Public Meeting (virtual): Development Proposal for the 1000 Block of Williamson this Thursday

Common Wealth Development proposes to redevelop the properties at 1001-1007 Williamson Street. The existing structures would be demolished, and a new, four-story, mixed-use building with 42-44 units of affordable housing would be constructed. The apartments would consist of 23 studio, 18 one-bedroom, and 3 three-bedroom units. Parking plans include 11 car stalls and bike storage/parking in a semi-subterranean lot. The project will serve low-income households, with rents set below maximum thresholds where possible, and 20% of the units will be reserved for veterans experiencing homelessness through a partnership with HUD-VASH.

A virtual neighborhood meeting to hear more about this proposal is scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 5:15pm. You can join the virtual meeting using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, or you can participate via telephone. You will receive login information after registering at www.cityofmadison.com/MeetingSeptember25Williamson.
