Hello District 7 neighbors,

As we head into the holiday week, I hope everyone finds time to rest, reconnect, and enjoy moments of gratitude. Thank you, as always, for staying engaged and helping keep our community strong and informed. Below are key updates, upcoming meetings, and events happening this week in the City of Madison.

Common Council Meeting – Online Only

The Common Council meeting on Tuesday, November 25 at 6:30 p.m. will be held exclusively online. This virtual format makes it easier for residents to participate from wherever you are, your voice matters, and I hope you will join us.

Agenda items include a proposed ordinance to prohibit the sale of cats and dogs in retail pet stores, along with several other important matters affecting our community.

You can stream the meeting on the City’s Watch Meetings page.

Thanksgiving & Ho-Chunk Day Closures

City administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28 in observance of Thanksgiving and Ho-Chunk Day.
Emergency services remain open, call 911 for emergencies.
For non-emergency issues, please use Report a Problem on the City website.

Trash & Recycling:
There will be no collections on November 27 or 28. Please check the Streets Division website for updated schedules and drop-off site hours.

  • Public Cannonball Path - Phase 6, Monday, November 24: The public is invited to attend a Virtual Public Information Meeting scheduled for Monday, November 24th at 6pm to learn more about the proposed design and anticipated timelines, as well as an opportunity to share feedback and ask questions of the project team. Registration prior is required.
