Where to Replenish or Recycle Your Fire Extinguisher
Fire extinguishers require special handling for disposal or replenishment.
The City of Madison does not collect fire extinguishers and does not accept them at City of Madison drop-off sites.
Businesses that sell and service fire extinguishers may dispose of them for you. We recommend calling ahead to confirm any fees or special instructions.
Visit the Dane County Department of Waste & Renewables website for a list of recycling locations. Search for "fire extinguishers" in the search engine.
