The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on February 2 to 6:00am on February 3, we received 414 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 73
- East: 90
- Midtown: 71
- North: 70
- South: 41
- West: 61
- Other: 8
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Monday, February 2:
- 7:22am - North – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen from an underground parking stall. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
- 9:27am - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 15-year-old male subject. It was reported that the subject was trying to flood his mother’s room using the kitchen sink sprayer and making threats towards himself and officers. The subject was armed with a knife. The subject was located outside the home when officers arrived. The subject was safely detained. The subject was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Reception Center on charges of disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts), disorderly conduct, and criminal damage to property.
- 9:36am - South – Missing/Runaway Juvenile: A 12-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
- 12:29pm - East – Residential Burglary: Caller reported being away from the residence for the past 6 weeks and upon return noticed numerous items missing/stolen from the home (including a handgun). Investigation continuing.
- 1:49pm - Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 41-year-old male subject followed customers into a business (500 block of State Street) and initiated a verbal altercation with the owner. The subject threatened to kill the owner. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
- 2:47pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to State St/W. Gorham St for a 38-year-old male subject chasing a female subject with a bottle of vodka. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting. The subject was also cited for open intoxicants.
- 3:47pm - South – Check Person: Officers contacted about a subject who attempted to overdose on vitamins. Local mental health resources plugged in. Subject at a local facility for an evaluation/treatment. Subject left in the care of medical staff. Officers disengaged.
- 6:12pm - South – Crash: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash (Applegate Rd/Latham Dr). The pedestrian sustained significant injuries (non-life threatening). The driver (50-year-old male) remained on scene and was cooperative. The driver was found to not have a driver’s license. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while revoked causing great bodily harm.
- 10pm - East – Traffic Incident: A traffic stop was initiated. The driver (48-year-old male) was slow to stop but eventually pulled into a parking lot of a convenience store. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle and he refused. The officer attempted to remove the driver from the vehicle and he resisted. The driver put the vehicle into drive and started to drive away. ECD deployed. Driver was able to flee in the vehicle. Driver remains at-large. Probable cause developed for numerous charges.
