The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on February 9 to 6:00am on February 10, we received 474 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 74
  • East: 98
  • Midtown: 84  
  • North: 81
  • South: 55
  • West: 71
  • Other: 11

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Monday, February 9:

Priority calls only from 12:41pm to 1:31pm due to calls for service. 

  • 7:10am - East – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen from N. Thompson Drive.  Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.  
  • 9:11am - South – Crash: Officers responded to a vehicle vs building crash (1700 block of S. Park St). The driver (only occupant) was partially ejected from the front windshield passenger side area. The subject was transported to a local hospital conscious. Investigation continuing.
  • 10:20am - East – Violation of a Court Order: Contact made with a victim who reported their ex (38-year-old male) was violating a harassment injunction order. The subject was arrested for violating a court order and a probation/parole hold.  
  • 11:52am - Midtown – Check Person: Officers received information from a group home that one of their residents left on foot and their whereabouts were unknown. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Subject not located. Investigation continuing.  
  • 5:389m - East – Check Person: Officers responded, along with CARES, to a report of a suicidal subject. Subject was plugged into local mental health resources earlier in the day. The subject continued to make suicidal statements. A lengthy dialogue took place between the subject and MPD/CARES. CARES developed a safety plan and officers disengaged.
  • 6:03pm - Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a rolling domestic in the area of Raymond Rd/Verona Rd. Victim reported being in a vehicle with their boyfriend/subject (22-year-old male) when a verbal argument turned physical. The victim reported being struck by the subject numerous times and having their hair pulled. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
  • 7:18pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a disturbance involving a 68-year-old male subject. The subject became aggressive with staff and made lewd/sexual comments to a staff member, as well as inappropriately touching them. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and 4th degree sexual assault.
  • 9:07pm - West – Traffic Arrest: Traffic stop conducted due to speed and erratic driving behavior of the 33-year-old male driver/subject. The subject was arrested for operating after revocation and IID tampering. Search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia and drugs. The subject was also charged with possession of cocaine, carrying a concealed knife by a felon (2 counts), possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts). The subject was also issued with numerous traffic citations.

Tuesday, February 10:

  • 1:13am - South – Adult Arrested Person: MPD was requested by DOC to locate/arrest a subject (32-year-old male) who is in violation of their parole. Subject located, arrested, and transported to jail.
  • 2:47am - Central – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a suicidal subject who was threatening to jump. Officers arrived and located the subject (52-year-old male) deceased. Suicide note located. Nothing suspicious identified at this time. Autopsy pending.
