The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on February 20 to 6:00am on February 23 we received 1,274 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, February 20:
Priority calls only from 9:14am to 12:19pm due to calls for service.
- 9:06am – Central – Disturbance: Officer responded to the 1200 block of E. Washington Ave for a subject who came into the business reporting they had been stabbed. The victim was conveyed to a local hospital. Suspect (33-year-old male) known to the victim. The suspect was arrested for 1st degree reckless endangering safety and domestic disorderly conduct.
- 9:09am – West – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation/emergency detention. Subject has a Chapter 51 return. Placement pending.
- 9:46am – East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a pulseless non-breathing child. The child was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased. The child had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified at this time. Peer Support services plugged in for the officers on this tragic call.
- 1:34pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to W. Mifflin St for a report of tents being slashed and items taken. A 22-year-old female subject was identified and contacted. The subject admitted to causing the damage. The subject was arrested for criminal damage to property and a probation hold.
- 6:58pm – East – Disturbance: Victim reported an unknown subject entered their unit, grabbed them from behind, and struck them numerous times in the head before being thrown to the ground. Suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. Safety planning resources discussed. Investigation continuing.
- 8:05pm – South – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault of a child involving a 20-year-old male subject. Victim interviewed. Suspect identified and contacted (located hiding at his girlfriend’s home with whom he has a no contact order). Probable cause developed. The suspect was arrested for 2nd degree sexual assault, false imprisonment, disorderly conduct, bail jumping, and resisting.
- 10:15pm – West – Disturbance: A 38-year-old male subject was observed rummaging through the victim’s vehicle. The victim confronted the suspect. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim. The suspect was arrested for 1st degree reckless endangering safety and felon in possession of a firearm.
- 10:20pm – East – Runaway Juvenile: A 14-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway after she got into an argument with her guardian. The youth made suicidal statements prior to leaving the home. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Phone pinged. The youth was located at a friend’s home and returned home. Local mental health resources plugged in.
- 10:54pm – Central – Traffic Arrest: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (54-year-old male) fled at a high rate of speed, rolled through a 4-way intersection without slowing, and continued to drive recklessly. The driver called the police to try to report his vehicle stolen as this was all taking place. The driver was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, obstructing, and fleeing/eluding.
Saturday, February 21:
Priority calls only from 7:08pm to 9:44pm due to calls for service.
- 11:05am – West – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault of a child. Investigation continuing.
- 1:09pm – East – Trespassing: Officers responded to a business in the 2700 block of E. Washington Avenue for a 43-year-old female subject trespassing (panhandling customers, eating food left on tables, etc.). The subject was arrested and conveyed to jail to post on a municipal trespassing citation.
- 4:56pm – West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (neighbor). Entry was made to the residence and the subject was located down in need of medical help. The subject was transported to a local hospital.
- 7:46am – West – Disturbance: A 50-year-old female subject was asked to leave to leave the residence in which they were staying at for a few months (not the actual renter). The subject became upset and proceeded to douse two victims with bleach. A physical altercation broke out. A victim sustained additional minor injuries. The subject required medical attention (not related to this incident). The subject was left with order-in documents for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct, and battery.
- 9:53pm – West – Battery: Officers responded to an altercation between neighbors. A 55-year-old male subject pushed his neighbor with the second shove sending the victim to the ground. The subject was arrested for battery to an elder person.
- 9:54pm – South – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted (no taillights, going 40mph on the Beltline). The driver (29-year-old male) was found to be impaired and was uncooperative with officers. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense), resisting, and bail jumping (4 counts).
- 10:31pm – North – Check Person: Officers responded to a residence for an out-of-control child who was physically assaulting a parent. The child was transported to a local hospital for a voluntary evaluation/services. Officers disengaged.
Sunday, February 22:
Priority calls only from 3:16am to 3:54am due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 7:36pm to 11:12pm due to calls for service.
- 4:23am – East – Drug Incident: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (43-year-old female). The subject had a needle in her arm. Lifesaving measures were performed, but they were not successful. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
- 5:43am – East – Adult Arrested Person: A wanted subject (40-year-old female) was located on East Springs Drive. The subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant and resisting.
- 7:06am – North – Drug Incident: A 45-yaer-old female subject was located unresponsive outside a residence. Oxy pills and heroin were located near the subject. Naloxone was administered and the subject was transported to a local hospital. Subject admitted. The subject was provided with order-in documents for possession of Schedule I/II narcotics (2 counts) and bail jumping (2 counts).
- 11:13am – West – Recovered Stolen Vehicle: A stolen vehicle was located in the 600 block of S. Gammon Rd. Multiple subjects in the area detained. Search of the vehicle yields cocaine and MDMA. Registered owner contacted. A 43-year-old male subject was arrested on drug-related charges and operating a motor vehicle without consent. At the jail the subject was found to be in possession of meth (added charge for felony bail jumping – 2 counts). The passenger (43-year-old female) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of MDMA (party to a crime), and possession of cocaine.
- 5:05pm – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: Traffic stop conducted on a vehicle driven by a 42-year-old male subject who stole merchandise from Target on two separate occasions. The subject was arrested for felony retail theft and misdemeanor retail theft.
- 8:15pm – Midtown – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence with a report of a subject being stabbed. The suspect (17-year-old male) was detained. The victim reported knowing the suspect and they believed that the suspect did not mean to stab them (but another person). The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The subject was arrested for 1st degree recklessly endangering safety.
- 9:55pm – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Contact made with the subject. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. Emergency detention sought/approved. Placement pending.
- 11:22pm – Central – Traffic Arrest: Traffic stop conducted. The driver (66-year-old male subject) has a revoked license. The driver had cocaine on them. The subject was arrested for possession of cocaine.
