The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on February 24 to 6:00am on February 25, we received 430 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 53
  • East: 86
  • Midtown: 71  
  • North: 83
  • South: 63
  • West: 64
  • Other: 10

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Tuesday, February 24:

  • 4:58am - North – Death Investigation:  MFD responded to a residence for a subject (39-year-old female) having ankle pain. The subject went pulseless non-breathing while MFD was on scene. Lifesaving measures attempted, but they were not successful. Nothing suspicious identified. The subject’s minor child was left in the care of another family member.
  • 7:06am - West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a pulseless non-breathing subject (77-year-old female). The subject was pronounced deceased. The subject had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.   
  • 8:38am - North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a pulseless non-breathing subject (89-year-old female). Lifesaving measures attempted, but they were not successful.  Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.   
  • 9:37am - North – Child Abuse: Officers received a child abuse report of an incident that occurred a week ago. Investigation continuing.
  • 3:32pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance on a Metro bus involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was attempting to leave the area on a bike when officers arrived. The subject ignored commands to stop. The subject was detained. A disturbance between the subject and another male subject (not on scene) took place on the bus. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.
  • 10:14pm - East – Crash: Officers responded to a convenience store for a subject passed out in the front entry way. The subject was woken up and advised to move along. The subject ran from the parking lot and darted across E. Washington Ave. A driver/vehicle swerved to miss the pedestrian and struck a vehicle that lost control and rolled over. A passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries.
  • 11:18pm - Central – Assist MFD: Officers responded, along with MFD and UWPD, to smoke coming out of a residence in the 100 block of W. Gorham St. Entry was made to the residence where 2 subjects were located sleeping. Unattended food was on fire. Three occupants safely removed from the home. Fire extinguished.  
  • 11:33pm - Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (85-year-old male). Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
