The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on March 2 to 6:00am on March 3, we received 476 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Monday, March 2:
- 9:19am - West – Fraud: Victim reported being contacted about winning millions of dollars in October of 2024. Since then, the victim has sent a large amount of money to scammers, in order to collect on their winnings. Investigation continuing.
- 9:37am - East – Adult Arrested Person: A 33-year-old male subject was called in as trespassing on the property of a business. The subject was no longer on site when officers arrived. The subject was located nearby urinating in public. The subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
- 10:16am - East – Adult Arrested Person: A 28-year-old female subject, with probable cause for their arrest from an incident in early January, was observed, taken into custody, and transported to jail.
- 12:25pm - East – Armed Robbery: A robbery was reported involving a 38-year-old male subject. The subject fled in a vehicle. The vehicle was observed by an officer and a traffic stop was initiated. The subject brandished a knife towards the victim and took their phone. The subject was arrested for armed robbery, 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, and disorderly conduct while armed. Phone recovered.
- 4:24pm - East – Missing Adult: A 72-year-old female subject (with dementia) was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Phone ping attempted. Silver Alert issued. The subject was located safe in Fitchburg. Silver Alert cancelled.
- 5:42pm - North – Disturbance: A 45-year-old female subject was located highly intoxicated on a BRT bench. Fire/EMS responded. The subject was uncooperative, so MPD was requested. The subject threatened officers with physical harm, displayed resistance, and was subsequently arrested. At the jail, the subject attempted to kick a deputy and kicked an MPD officer. The subject was placed in seg. Charges – resisting, threats to law enforcement, battery to law enforcement, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping.
- 8:50pm - North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 36-year-old male subject. It was reported that the subject was armed with a hammer and pushed a victim down the stairs. Significant damage to the common areas of the building were observed by officers. The subject was contacted by officers. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts), carrying a concealed weapon, resisting, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
- 8:51pm - East – Child Neglect: Officers responded to a motel on East Springs Drive to check the welfare of an infant. The caller reported the mother would leave the baby alone with strangers while she went to use drugs in other rooms. The mother was contacted and believed to be under the influence. The mother/baby were transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Child Protective Services plugged in. No concerns identified at this time for the baby. The baby was turned over to the care of a friend at the approval of CPS. Additional follow-up may be necessary. Investigation continuing.
- 10:25pm - Central – Non-Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a report of a 32-year-old male subject trying to enter a building by breaking a window. The subject was contacted and arrested for attempted burglary and disorderly conduct while armed.
- 11:11pm - Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to the 1300 block of E. Mifflin St for sounds of a subject screaming for help. Numerous subjects detained. Subjects not forthcoming about what occurred. A 54-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, illegally obtained prescription drugs, and obstructing.
