The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 6 to 6:00am on March 9 we received 1,195 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 199
  • East: 244
  • Midtown: 195   
  • North: 211
  • South: 157
  • West: 156
  • Other: 33

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Friday, March 6:

  • 10:28am – Midtown – Runaway Juvenile: A 9-year-old child was reported as walking away from school grounds. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Child located safe by their mother.  
  • 3:48pm – West – Adult Arrested Person: An 18-year-old male subject turned himself in on probation/parole violation. The subject was booked into jail.
  • 12:33pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance that started at one business and led to another involving two subjects (including a 56-year-old female subject). Witnesses reported seeing the subject striking, scratching, and hitting the victim up and down E. Washington Ave. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a probation/parole violation.
  • 5:17pm – West – Traffic Arrest: A traffic stop was conducted (22-year-old male driver). Marijuana observed in plain view. Vehicle search yielded marijuana, THC products, scales, and a large amount of cash. The subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana and felony bail jumping.  
  • 7:10pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance between roommates. A 24-year-old male subject grabbed his roommate by the throat. The subject was in possession of a folding knife and stabbed the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital where they were treated and released. The subject was arrested for 1st degree reckless endangering safety.
  • 9:13pm – West – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a crash on Hempstead. The 64-year-old male driver was found to be impaired and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (7th offense). He was also arrested for operating after revocation and cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
  • 11:53pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: A 28-year-old female subject called 911 throughout the day for various non-emergency situations. Officers responded to the subject’s residence to issue her a citation for misuse of 911, but when they became in contact with her she became disorderly at the door and resisted officers when they went to detain her. She was cited for disorderly conduct and misuse of 911, and arrested for resisting.

Saturday, March 7:

Priority calls only from 1:30am to 2:55am due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 8:23pm to 9:01pm due to calls for service. 

  • 8:38am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Victim reported a disturbance took place late in the evening/early in the morning involving a 32-year-old male subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject (not contacted by officers).
  • 9:27am – Midtown – Intoxicated Driver: Officer responded to a crash involving an intoxicated driver (30-year-old male). Caller reported the crash occurred overnight and the driver was in the vehicle on the wrong side of the road. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense). He was also arrested for multiple warrants.
  • 10:45am – West – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 48-year-old male subject. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Decedent was an alcoholic. Nothing suspicious identified.
  • 1:39pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject and their parent. The subject punched their parent in the face numerous times during an argument. The victim fled the residence. Officers attempted contact with the subject at home, but he was not there. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
  • 4:22pm – Central – Disturbance: The officers responded to a disturbance. The victim was struck with a cane. The subject fled. Areas checked without success.  The victim obtained medical treatment for their injuries.
  • 4:25pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 56-year-old male subject approached officers who were on a call. The subject was asked numerous times to step back and he did not comply. The subject attempted to push an officer. The subject was arrested for resisting/obstructing.
  • 5:36pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male subject. The subject refused to leave the premises when asked, but ultimately left before officers arrived. The subject had an outstanding warrant so officers began to check the area. The subject was located and he attempted to flee on foot. The subject was apprehended and arrested for felony bail jumping, a warrant, and resisting.
  • 9:01pm – West – Adult Arrested Person: A 36-year-old male subject became disruptive at Culvers on Mineral Point Road. The subject was asked to leave by staff and refused. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

Sunday, March 8:

Priority calls only from 4:57am to 6am due to calls for service. 

  • 12:34am – South – Fight Call: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving several subjects (1800 block of S. Park St). Two 25-year-old male subjects were contacted and found to be involved in the disturbance. Both subjects arrested. Charges included attempted battery, disorderly conduct, battery to law enforcement, resisting causing soft tissue injury, and battery.
  • 1:13am – East – Fight Call: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject with a baseball bat. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
  • 4:02am – East – Armed Robbery: Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery. 3 unknown male subjects approached the victims, battered one of the victims, and stole their vehicle. The vehicle was later located unoccupied. Investigation continuing.
  • 12:31pm – Central – Sexual Assault: Officers received a report of a sexual assault that occurred Friday night/Saturday morning. Investigation continuing.
  • 3:36pm – Midtown – PNB Response:  An 88-year-old male subject was out biking when they suffered a medical event. MPD/EMS responded. Nothing suspicious identified. The subject was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away.
  • 5:23pm – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a business for a retail theft in progress (Monroe St/S. Prospect Ave). A 38-year-old male subject was identified, located, and detained. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for retail theft (probable cause on file for an incident from last month and a new charge for today’s incident) and resisting.
  • 6:15pm – Midtown – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers responded to a sexual assault of a child abuse allegation. A 21-year-old male subject was arrested for sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 (3 counts).
  • 6:18pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: A 27-year-old female subject, with outstanding probable cause, was observed by an officer at Dane St/Taft St. The subject was uncooperative with officers. The subject kicked an officer. The subject was arrested and transported to jail.
  • 8:42pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers were flagged down by a subject screaming and yelling at them to take him to jail. Contact made with two subjects. A verbal argument took place between two brothers which escalated. A 40-year-old male subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 
  • 9:29pm – Central – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to E. Gorham St/N. Brearly St for a crash. Incident was a hit-and-run. The suspect vehicle was located on Rusk St with the driver (42-year-old male) still on scene. The subject was impaired and arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (5th offense), hit-and-run, and a probation/parole hold. Pills located on the subject tested positive for MDMA which added an additional charge for the subject.
