The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 16 to 6:00am on March 17, we received 411 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 56
  • East: 104
  • Midtown: 64  
  • North: 85
  • South: 39
  • West: 58
  • Other: 5

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Monday, March 16:

  • 11:21am – Central – Unwanted Person: A banned subject (28-year-old male) went into the library. Staff asked him to leave and he refused. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, and trespassing.  
  • 1:47pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: A 19-year-old male subject left threatening voicemails on the victim’s phone. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 4:15pm – North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (20-year-old female). Decedent had a history of mental health concerns/suicidal ideations, as well as recent legal troubles. Autopsy pending. Nothing suspicious identified.  
  • 4:41pm – West – Armed Robbery: Officers responded to a 911 disconnect call. Officers arrive to a chaotic scene. Contact made with a subject and it was initially unclear what had occurred. The subject went on to report that two unknown male subjects wearing masks pointed a gun at them and a physical disturbance took place. The two male subjects fled from the area. Unfired bullets located in the vehicle as well as empty containers which were suspected to have contained marijuana in them. 
  • 6:33pm – East – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers received a report of a sexual assault of a child involving a 38-year-old male subject. Subject contacted and denied the allegation. Probation/Parole contacted as the subject is on parole. A hold was placed on the subject. He was transported to jail. Probable cause not developed for any charges at this time.
  • 8:19pm – Midtown – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Phone pinged. Subject’s vehicle located unoccupied. The subject was entered as missing/endangered in the appropriate databases.
  • 11:22pm – Central – Crash: A 27-year-old male driver/subject crashed into a parked vehicle and tried to leave the area (E. Wilson St/Ingersoll St). The subject was arrested for hit-and-run and obstructing. He was also cited for operating after revocation and failure to maintain control of vehicle.  

Tuesday, March 17:

  • 12:05am – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 51-year-old male subject. While officers are talking with the subject, he becomes agitated. Officers went to detain the subject, and he resisted them and spit in an officer’s eye. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, resisting, and discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker.
  • 2am – East – Traffic Arrest: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (34-year-old male) was found to have a warrant. The subject was transported to jail.
