Madison Police Investigating Langdon Street Shooting

Madison Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Langdon St for a report of an individual with a gunshot wound to their arm. When officers arrive, they located a 16-year-old with a gunshot wound to their forearm. Responding officers set up a perimeter and utilize a drone to check the area and then found two individuals that fled the scene hiding near the lake. MPD then took the two individuals into custody. One male was hiding in the lake and admits to having a firearm on him. Officers were able to safely get him out of the lake and secure the gun.

At this time, it is believed that the gunshot was accidental and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The individual with a gunshot wound was taken to the hospital and treated with non-lifethreatening injuries. This incident is still under investigation.
