The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 25 to 6:00am on March 26, we received 511 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 101
  • East: 114
  • Midtown: 70
  • North: 93
  • South: 62
  • West: 62
  • Other: 9

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, March 25:

  • 9:10am - East – Death Investigation:  Officers responded to a residence where a 41-year-old female was found deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
  • 9:57am - Central – Robbery: Officers responded to Walgreens where an unidentified male suspect stole some items after placing a realistic looking toy gun on the counter. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for retail theft and disorderly conduct while armed. Investigation continuing. Suspect is at large. 
  • 10:45am - East – Assist Police:  DCSO deputies requested assistance after a suspect fled from a traffic stop. Madison officers assisted in locating and apprehending the suspect.
  • 10:52am - East – Damage to Property: Officers responded to the 2300 block of S Stoughton Rd where the 20-year-old male suspect damaged several cars in the area. The suspect was arrested and charged with multiple counts of damage to property.
  • 2:16pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 38-year-old male suspect threw a laptop, pushed the victim and damaged a vehicle. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct, damage to property and bail jumping.
  • 3:15pm - West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence where family members found a 71-year-old woman deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
  • 4:22pm - Citywide – Disturbance: Officers responded to several calls throughout the afternoon, evening and into the early morning hours involving large groups of juveniles who were causing disturbances, fighting and making messes. Investigation continuing.
  • 4:25pm - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, the 40-year-old male suspect grabbed the victim, took her phone, and threatened her while armed with a knife. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic false imprisonment, intimidation of a victim, disorderly conduct while armed, and battery. Suspect is at large.
  • 9:40pm - Central – Disturbance: Two juvenile victims reported they were attacked by a group of older juveniles who searched one of the victim's pockets for money. The group then fled the scene. Investigation continuing.

Thursday, March 26:

  • 12:27am - East – Adult Arrested Person: An officer observed a 47-year-old male suspect who had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the jail.
  • 12:31am - East – Check Person: Dispatch received a report of a possibly suicidal subject. Officers located the man on a bridge and placed him into protective custody. The man was transported to a hospital.
