The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on March 26 to 6:00am on March 27, we received 439 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 112
  • East: 108
  • Midtown: 75
  • North: 68
  • South: 63
  • West: 54
  • Other: 13

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Thursday, March 26:

  • 3:07am - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the victim reported that the suspect put his arm around her throat, pushed her head into a pillow and took her phone. A 14-year-old male suspect was charged with intimidation of a victim and a 13-year-old male suspect was charged with strangulation and intimidation of a victim. Both suspects were conveyed to JRC. (This was a late call that didn't make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
  • 5:12am - West – Found Person: Dispatch received a report of a four-year-old girl walking outside alone. Officers responded to the area and made contact with the child, who was eventually reunited with her mother. (This was a late call that didn't make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
  • 5:57am - North – Stolen Auto: A victim reported that her car was stolen sometime overnight. The vehicle was listed as stolen and an ATL was aired.
  • 10:16am - Central – Death Investigation:  Officers responded to a residence where property management reported a foul odor. Officers entered the apartment and discovered a 74-year-old man deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
  • 11:12am - East – Weapons Offense:  A victim reported that the 30-year-old male suspect was chasing her with a knife.  The suspect attempted to stab a second victim but did not injure him. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for stalking, disorderly conduct while armed, and 1st degree reckless endangering safety. Suspect is at large.
  • 2:13pm - East – Trespass: An officer observed a trailer parked behind a building on property posted for no trespassing. The officer observed the 39-year-old male suspect attempting to hide something in the ground. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting.
  • 5:11pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the 600 block of E Washington Ave where a 30-year-old female suspect smashed the window of a truck and threw a rock through the glass in a door. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and damage to property.
  • 11:34pm - Central – Disturbance:  Officers responded to a bar where the 38-year-old male suspect stood outside blocking the front entrance after being asked to leave. The suspect then went back into the bar, at which point staff removed him and called police. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and trespass.
  • 11:52pm - Central – Drug Incident/Investigation: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an illegible license plate. The 27-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with child neglect, battery to LE, resisting, possession with intent heroin, possession with intent THC, felon in possession of a firearm, and obstructing.

Friday, March 27:

  • 12:49am - Central – Domestic Disturbance: The victim reported that the 28-year-old female suspect struck him. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
  • 2:09am - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a bar where the 27-year-old male suspect refused to leave and attempted to fight with staff. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, threats to LE and battery to LE.
  • 2:57am - East – Domestic Disturbance: During an argument, while traveling on the beltline in a vehicle, the 27-year-old male suspect grabbed and pulled the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to crash. The suspect was arrested and charged with 1st degree reckless endangering safety.
