Common Council New Business Summaries are short descriptions of items introduced at the most recent Common Council meeting. They come from the “Introduction of New Business for Referral Without Debate" section of the agenda, as well as any items introduced from the floor. This document should help readers identify items they are interested in as they make their way through City Boards, Commissions, and Committees (BCCs) and back to the Common Council for a decision.

92355 – This proposed resolution would adopt a Relocation Order for the acquisition of land interests required for the construction of safety improvements at the intersection of S. Whitney Way and Odana Road. This proposed resolution will go to the following BCCs on the following dates:

Ordinances:
Ordinances are the laws for the City of Madison. Items in this section are newly proposed ordinances or changes that are being put forward.
92289 – This proposed ordinance would make several changes to the City's solid waste disposal related ordinances to bring the ordinances up to date with current City practices and State law requirements and terminology. This proposed ordinance will go to the following BCCs on the following dates:

92342 – This proposed ordinance would allow for longer periods for installment payments of special assessments for customers of private water supply cooperatives. This proposed ordinance will go to the following BCCs on the following dates:

92344 – This proposed ordinance would amend the zoning code to include a new accessory use, “fairground," which is an outdoor area on government-owned property used for events such as fairs, carnivals, exhibitions, agricultural and animal shows, commercial expositions and trade shows, concerts, sporting events or other similar events. 92348 – This proposed ordinance would rezone property located at 822 Pulley Drive in District 3 to facilitate division of the property into two lots. This proposed ordinance will go to the following BCCs on the following dates:

92386 – This proposed ordinance would revise several sections of the ordinances related to the work of the Office of the Independent Police Monitor (OIM) and the Police Civilian Oversight Board (PCOB), to clarify that the OIM, while independent in its responsibilities and authority to conduct investigations and make recommendations, is subject to City procedures and policies as are other City agencies. This proposed ordinance will go to the following BCCs on the following dates:

92238 – This proposed resolution would approve a Certified Survey Map of property owned by Peerless Development Co. located at 1111-1135 Regent Street and 2 S Mills Street in District 13. This proposed resolution will go to the following BCCs on the following dates:

92337 – This proposed resolution would authorize a five-year agreement with Dane County Emergency Management to compensate the Madison Fire Department (MFD) for servicing the medication and supply vending machines at local hospitals. 92347 – This proposed resolution would authorize an agreement between the City of Madison and Madison's Central Business Improvement District and/or its fiscal sponsor for programming at locations on State Street and the Capitol Square. You can register to speak at a BCC meeting on issues and agenda items important to you. You can also register in support or opposition to the item without speaking.
- Go to the meeting registration page.
- In the “Meeting" drop down select the BCC that you want to register for.
- Important Note: You can only register if the BCC has posted its agenda. This is usually a few days ahead of the meeting.
- Choose the agenda number that matches the item you are interested in.
- Choose to register support or oppose the agenda item, if you would like to speak, if you are representing an organization or another person, and provide your contact information.
