The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on April 16 to 6:00am on April 17, we received 559 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 114
  • East: 94
  • Midtown: 101
  • North: 88
  • South: 63
  • West: 80
  • Other: 19

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, April 16:

Priority calls only from 11:09am to 3:06pm due to calls for service.

  • 2:51am - South – Missing Adult: A caller to dispatch requested that officers help her find her adult daughter who was believed to be at an apartment on the south side. Officers located the woman who had an ID and phone belonging to a 21-year-old woman whose whereabouts were unknown. Officers checked the woman's residence and did not locate her. The woman was listed as missing and an ATL was aired. Officers later made contact with her and her missing status was removed. (This was a late call that did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
  • 6:18am - South – Check Person: Officers responded to the beltline highway for a woman who was walking on the shoulder near Seminole Hwy. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health and transported the woman to a hospital. The woman was released to the custody of her mother.
  • 11:37am - North – Road Rage: A caller reported she was driving on Northport Dr when the 74-year-old male suspect brandished a gun in reaction to her pulling in front of him. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed and cited for reckless driving. 
  • 12:23pm - North – Missing Adult: A woman called to report her 61-year-old mother missing. Officers located the woman in the downtown area. CARES contacted her and transported her to a hospital.
  • 1:54pm - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a group home where staff discovered marijuana products in the possession of a 30-year-old male resident/suspect. The suspect punched a staff member and broke items in the house. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and battery. 
  • 3:08pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to James Madison Park where the 27-year-old male suspect punched the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
  • 4:03pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 64-year-old male suspect was hitting himself and threatening family members. The suspect was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 6:58pm - Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Journey Mental Health asked officers to respond to a residence to place a juvenile into protective custody. Officers transported the juvenile to a hospital for a med clear and then to a mental health facility.
  • 11:40pm - Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: The 47-year-old male suspect was driving while arguing with two passengers. The suspect began driving recklessly and threatening the passengers and refused to stop and let them out. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, domestic disorderly conduct and false imprisonment.
