The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on April 24 to 6:00am on April 27 we received 1,524 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Friday, April 24:
Priority calls only from 8:56am to 11:50am due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 12:29pm to 3:18pm due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 9:01pm to 10:59pm due to calls for service.
- 8:24am – Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers met with a victim at a local hospital who was being seen for injuries they sustained during a physical altercation with a 45-year-old male subject. Officers responded to a residence in an attempt to located/contact the subject. A vehicle, associated with the subject, was observed. The subject fled in a vehicle and did not stop for officers. The vehicle was later located unoccupied. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 11:58am – Midtown – Check Person: Officers responded to a residence for a juvenile who was causing a disturbance and was threatening suicide. The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending.
Saturday, April 25:
Priority calls only from 2:51am to 5:09am due to calls for service.

- 1:27am – West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who was shotting into a tree with a BB gun and stabbing the tree with a knife. The subject made suicidal statements. The subject was not cooperative with officers. Less lethal tools utilized to take the subject into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention (sought/approved). The subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago.
- 2:36am – South – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to several calls about a subject with a gun and lots of shouting. The suspect (35-year-old male ) fled on foot and jumped several fences. K9 track conducted. The suspect was ultimately located/detained. No firearm located/recovered. It was reported that the subject pulled out a gun, racked a round, and pointed the gun at several subjects. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety (3 counts).
- 2:49am – Central – Disturbance: A fight broke out on W. Gorham St/State St. Three subjects involved in the disturbance. All subjects arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting (23-year-old male, 22-year-old male, 21-year-old male).
- 7:16am – East – Adult Arrested Person: DOC issued a warrant for a 37-year-old male subject. The subject was located and arrested on the outstanding warrant.
- 9:25am – South – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a report of a male subject passed out in the wooded area (200 block of Bram St) with bottles of alcohol around him. EMS located a vehicle nearby that was occupied by a male subject/driver who was also passed out. A large amount of marijuana and Xanax was located. A loaded handgun was in the vehicle as well. The driver (identity not known at the time of this writing) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence while armed, possession with intent to deliver THC, and possession with intent to deliver Schedule 4 narcotics. The other subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver Schedule 4 narcotics.
- 11:18am – Midtown – Disturbance: An 18-year-old male subject is visiting his girlfriend's residence, where he is banned from. The subject became angry when he was told he had to leave and he pulled out a gun. The subject pointed the gun at a victim. The subject was taken into custody. The gun was recovered. The girlfriend (17-year-old female) became upset when her boyfriend was being arrested. The female subject punched an officer in the head. The male subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, misdemeanor bail jumping, felony bail jumping, carrying a concealed weapon, and resisting causing soft tissue injury. The female subject was arrested for battery to law enforcement.
- 1:10pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers received a request to locate/arrest a DOC client (25-year-old male). The subject was located and arrested on a probation violation, felony bail jumping (2 counts), possession of fentanyl, and possession of Schedule 4 narcotics.
- 2:55pm – East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (52-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
- 5:17pm – Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (79-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office notified. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 7:06pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: Caller reported that a 27-year-old male subject stole their TV on Friday evening. The caller reported that on Saturday evening the same subject called them names, threatened them, and shoved them. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. *Subject bailed out of jail and went back to the residence which was a violation of a no-contact provision. The subject was arrested for a second time.
- 9:48pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: A 33-year-old female subject went to the home of the father of her child as she suspected he was cheating on her. The subject used a vehicle that was registered to the victim to ram an unoccupied vehicle (with a child in the backseat). The victim was physically attacked by the subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, reckless endangering safety, and child endangerment.
- 10:17pm – West – Disturbance: Two subjects returned home after being at Mifflin St all day. A 17-year-old female subject struck a victim in the face repeatedly with a cell phone which caused visible injuries. The subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child.
Sunday, April 26:

- 11:22am – Midtown – Death Investigation: officers responded to a report of an unresponsive infant. Lifesaving measures attempted but they were not successful. Investigation continuing.
- 11:46am – East – Domestic Disturbance: A 22-year-old male subject picked a lock and gained entry to the residence of his ex (victim). The two subjects got into a verbal argument that escalated into a shoving match. The victim tried to call the police, but the subject took the phone away. The victim was able to get the phone back and called 911. The subject left the residence. The subject was located/contacted and arrested for burglary, domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, resisting, and intimidation of a victim.
- 1:44pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Caller/victim reported their ex (34-year-old male) changed the locks to their residence and they were unable to get in to collect their belongings. The victim also reported a recent domestic violence incident involving the male subject. Probable cause was developed to arrest the subject. The subject was charged with domestic disorderly conduct, battery, and false imprisonment.
- 8:45pm – West – Child Neglect: Officers responded to S. Gammon Rd for a report of unattended children running in the street. Contact was made with a 32-year-old female subject who was uncooperative with officers. The subject resisted officers when they detained her. The subject was arrested for attempted battery to law enforcement, resisting causing soft tissue injury, child neglect, and disorderly conduct.
- 10:17pm – Central – Crash: Officers responded to a bicycle vs. vehicle crash. The driver/vehicle did not remain on scene. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigation continuing.
