The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on May 5 to 6:00am on May 6, we received 460 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 84
- East: 106
- Midtown: 63
- North: 80
- South: 53
- West: 60
- Other: 14
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Monday, May 5:
- 8:44am – South – Adult Arrested Person: A traffic stop was conducted. A 31-year-old male subject (passenger) fled on foot. The passenger was apprehended. The subject was arrested for resisting (2 counts), carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and outstanding warrants. The driver (25-year-old female) was arrested on outstanding probable cause (fraud-related charges).
- 11:14am – North – Runaway Juvenile: A 15-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed in the appropriate databases as missing/runaway.
- 2:21pm – North – Crash: Officers responded to a crash (Hwy 30/E. Washington Ave). A vehicle/driver struck a light pole. The passenger fled on foot. The driver (37-year-old male) was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, inattentive driving, operating after revocation, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
- 6:15pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to the Beacon, along with EMS. The 53-year-old male caller/subject stated they did not need medical assistance and only called because they wanted a ride to the men's shelter. The subject unzipped their pants and urinated in front of MPD/MFD. The subject was arrested/cited for depositing human waste.
- 6:16pm – South – Crash: Officers responded to a crash (EB 12 near Rimrock Rd). A 19-year-old female subject/driver attempted to change lanes in between two vehicles. The driver ended up striking both vehicles and flipped her vehicle. The driver sustained minor injuries. The driver was issued several traffic citations.
- 7:58pm – Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 75-year-old male subject. No answer at the residence. Subject has physical limitations and is a hoarder. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 8:34pm – East – Drug Incident: 2:21pm – North – Crash: An officer conducting proactive patrol observed a 23-year-old male subject in a vehicle in a parking lot that they did not live at. The vehicle was identified as having a history of drug-incidents. The officer, after completing a records check, noticed the vehicle was now empty. The officer went up to the vehicle and observed a handgun in plain view. The subject was observed running away from the area. The subject was apprehended. A search of the vehicle yielded cash and marijuana that was individually packaged. The subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC and resisting.
- 9:01pm – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject pulled out a handgun during a confrontation. A verbal argument took place. The subject was located (as he had left the scene) and detained. A handgun was recovered. A young child was in the vehicle with the subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, carrying a concealed weapon, and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
- 10:20pm – East – Strong Armed Robbery: A 23-year-old female subject physically assaulted a victim and stole money from them. The subject was taken into custody later in the evening and charged with strong armed robbery, physical abuse to an elder, battery, and theft.
Wednesday, May 6:
- 4:01am – Midtown – Check Person: A subject was driving around and randomly hit the OnStar button in the vehicle that connected them to dispatch. Dispatch overheard the subject talking about spaceships and other random things. Officers were able to meet up with the subject. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. Final outcome pending.
