The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on May 6 to 6:00am on May 7, we received 453 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 86
- East: 84
- Midtown: 81
- North: 80
- South: 39
- West: 75
- Other: 8
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Wednesday, May 6:
Priority calls only from 4:06pm to 8:49pm due to calls for service.
- 10:31am – South – Traffic Arrest: A 26-year-old male driver/subject was stopped going 89mph on the beltline. An odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view. The driver was arrested for felony bail jumping. The driver was issued numerous citations.
- 2:52pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a residence to check the welfare of a subject. Contact was made with a 34-year-old female subject who was uncooperative. The subject kicked two officers. The subject had probable cause for her arrest (physical abuse to a child). The subject was arrested and also charged with battery to law enforcement and resisting.
- 3:51pm – West – Check Area: Officers responded to the 1100 block of Morraine View Drive for reports of shots fired. An occupied apartment unit was struck. No injuries reported. Casings located/recovered. Investigation continuing.
- 10:17pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 56-year-old male subject jumped up and down on a squad on State Street. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping.
Thursday, May 7:
- 12:37am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence after a child called in a disturbance between their parents. No answer the residence. Officers made entry to check the welfare of any occupants. A 32-year-old male subject was detained. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a probation hold.
- 1:53am – Central – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (69-year-old female) was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense).
- 4:09am – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a pulseless non-breathing subject (33-year-old male). The subject was pronounced deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
