The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00am on May 8 to 6:00am on May 11 we received 1,339 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

Friday, May 8:
Priority calls only from 10:44am to 12:05pm due to calls for service.
- 8:42am – Midtown – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen overnight. The vehicle was left unlocked and had the keys in it. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
- 9:08am – West – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen overnight. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
- 10:16am – North – Adult Arrested Person: A wanted subject (52-year-old male) was contacted and arrested for violating a harassment injunction order. The subject was transported/booked into jail.
- 3:42pm – Central – Hit-and-Run Crash: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash (State/Lake St). Vehicle/driver did not remain on scene. Pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries. Investigation continuing.
- 3:43pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: A 49-year-old female subject made her way into one of the tents set up for UW graduation and took flowers and other items. She also threatened other people with a hammer. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, theft, and resisting.
- 4:23pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Police were dispatched 4 times throughout the day for various disturbances/calls involving a 32-year-old male subject. 1st call – report of two subjects fighting; subjects not on scene when officers arrived but suspect identified. 2nd call – same suspect called in for threatening other people; subject contacted; probable cause not developed, subject released. 3rd call – police dispatched to the library for a physical altercation involving the same subject. 4th call – probation/parole called reference a subject having a mental health episode (same subject). Subject has a history of mental health concerns, has reached out to police over 20 times this month so far, etc. MPD Mental Health Officer responded. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject for battery and disorderly conduct. An emergency detention may be sought in the near future on this subject due to on-going incidents.
- 5:40pm – Midtown – Missing Adult: A 23-year-old female subject was reported as missing from their group home. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.
- 9:01pm – North – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted. The 31-year-old male driver/subject told the officer they had marijuana on them and were “a little high." The subject did not perform well on field sobriety tests. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), resisting, unreasonable/imprudent speed, and operating without a valid driver's license.
- 9:21pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving an intoxicated 42-year-old female subject. The subject struck the victim in the head/face. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
- 9:51pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 34-year-old female subject. The subject attacked the victim, throwing bleach at their face. The subject cut the victim's lip with a broken piece of a coffee mug. The subject took the victim's phone and left the residence. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the subject, who remains at-large.
Saturday, May 9:
- 3:13am – Central – Disturbance: A 36-year-old female subject confronted a friend and stabbed them numerous times with a fork. The victim received medical care from EMS. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the suspect. Suspect remains at-large.
- 5:02am – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred the night before involving a 46-year-old female subject. The subject became upset with the victim when they would not take her somewhere to buy drugs. The subject stabbed the victim in the hand. The victim was transported to a local hospital. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety (domestic).
- 1:43pm – Central – Stolen Auto: A U-Haul truck was reported as not returned/stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. Renter identified.
- 3:36pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: DOC requested officers locate/arrest a client of theirs (29-year-old male). The subject was contacted and arrested for violating the terms of their supervision.
- 4:04pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers observed a physical altercation take place involving a 41-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
- 5:56pm – Central – Damage to Property: 3 vehicles were reported to have had their ignitions tampered with. Investigation continuing.
- 6:20pm – East – Check Area: Officer responded to Rise Lane for a delayed report of shots fired. A bullet hole was located. Video surveillance reviewed. Investigation continuing.
- 8:24pm – East – Child Abuse: Officers responded to a report of child abuse involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for child abuse. CPS notified.
- 9:37pm – South – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a restaurant for a 46-year-old female subject who went unresponsive after having a coughing fit (subject has lung cancer). MFD attempted lifesaving measures. The subject was pronounced deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
Sunday, May 10:

- 1:16am – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to the men's shelter for a 23-year-old male subject trying to steal property from another subject. The subject attacked the other subject and several shelter staff members. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
- 1:16am – Central – Disturbance: A 33-year-old female subject tried to push her way past a line of employees in a restaurant. The subject was intoxicated. The subject was contacted and found to have an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested on the warrant and for disorderly conduct.
- 2:10am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 22-year-old female subject. The subject grabbed a knife and attacked the victim with it. The victim sustained a laceration. The subject threw items at the victim which caused additional injuries (non-life threatening). The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, domestic strangulation, and domestic 2nd degree reckless endangering safety.
- 7:26am – Central – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject that was observed walking on the ledge of the third level of a parking ramp. Contact made with the subject who was found to be intoxicated. The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. Subject not determined to be suicidal. The subject was left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged.
- 8:27am – Central – Death Investigation: Officers responded to the Salvation Army for an unresponsive subject (33-year-old female). Lifesaving measures attempted. The subject was pronounced deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
- 12:29pm – West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 59-year-old male subject. The subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 12:53pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject. It was reported that the subject was behaving aggressively towards another subject and a child. The subject was contacted. The subject attempted to flee on foot. The subject fought officers. The subject was arrested for resisting, battery to law enforcement (3 counts), domestic disorderly conduct, and outstanding warrants.
- 3:44pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to an adult family home for a 26-year-old female subject fighting with staff. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery after consulting with local mental health providers.
- 5:56pm – Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: A victim reported a violent domestic disturbance took place the day prior involving a 28-year-old male subject. The victim sustained visible injuries. Probable cause was developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 6:41pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a convenience store for a disturbance involving a 54-year-old female subject. The subject was intoxicated. The subject grabbed the victim by the neck and pushed them. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery. CPS notified as a child was in the vehicle at the time of the disturbance.
- 9:27pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a 31-year-old female subject trying to kick the door in. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
Monday, May 11:
- 12:35am – Central – Crash: A subject was sitting on a curb with their legs draped out into traffic, possible passed out. A driver did not see the subject and drove over the subject's legs. The driver was cooperative with the investigation. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No citations/charges at this time.
- 2:08am – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance. This was the 2nd time MPD was called to the residence this evening. An argument took place between a 45-year-old female subject and a 43-year-old male. The male subject pushed another subject and took off running when officers were arriving in the area. The female subject was arrested for battery. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.
- 3:28am – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance/unwanted subject involving a 30-year-old male subject. Subjects contacted. The subject provided false identification to officers. The subject grabbed a young child and used them as a human shield, ran into a bedroom, and barricaded themselves. Officers were quick to respond to this behavior by pulling the child to safety. The subject resisted officers. The subject was taken into custody. The subject was arrested for felony resisting causing soft tissue injury, disorderly conduct, obstruction, physical abuse to a child, and outstanding warrants.
