The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on May 15 to 6:00am on May 18 we received 1,433 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Other: 35

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Friday, May 15:

Priority calls only from 11:04pm to 12:20am due to calls for service. 

  • 2:03am – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the 200 block of State Street for a fight. A 33-year-old male subject was identified as the primary aggressor. He was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct. A 21-year-old male subject was cited for disorderly conduct for their role in the fight. Other subjects involved were not on scene when officers arrived.   
  • 4:03am – Midtown – Non-Residential Burglary: Officers responded to an alarm at a convenience store in the 6700 block of Mineral Point Rd. A window was found broken and entry was gained. Investigation continuing.   
  • 8:27am – East – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers received a report of sexual assault of a child. Investigation continuing.  
  • 8:45am – East – Runaway Juvenile: A 17-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
  • 9:02am – West – Theft from Auto: An unknown male subject entered a vehicle not belonging to them and stole items (cash, wallet, backpack). Witnesses observed the incident. Investigation continuing.
  • 9:18am – Central – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (53-year-old male) not moving laying outside on W. Mifflin St. The subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.  
  • 11:35am – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject.
  • 12:19pm – West – Adult Arrested Person: A 48-year-old male subject was at the intersection of Gammon Rd/Odana Rd. The subject has been previously warned about panhandling. The subject was contacted and found to have an outstanding warrant. The subject was transported to jail.
  • 3:04pm – Central – Trespass: A 43-year-old male subject was observed trespassing. The subject had outstanding warrants as well. A search incident to arrest yielded OC and a knife (subject is a felon). The subject was arrested for felon in possession of OC, carrying a concealed weapon, and the warrants.
  • 4:13pm – North – Battery: Officers responded to an apartment complex/residential unit for a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject was reported to have grabbed a minor, twisted their arm, and hit them in the back. The subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child.   
  • 9:55pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: DOC requested officers locate/arrest their client (35-year-old male). The subject was located and transported to jail.
  • 11:10pm – East – Damage to Property: Homeowner reported their house was struck by a bullet. Bullet extracted. Investigation continuing.

Saturday, May 16:

Priority calls only from 7:10pm to 8:23pm due to calls for service. 

  • 2:04am – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male subject. The resident asked the subject to leave the residence and he refused. Officers arrived and located the subject in a very agitated state. Probable cause not developed for the incident on this day but the subject is on probation/parole and they placed a hold on him. The subject resisted officers when they placed him into custody. The subject was transported to jail.
  • 2:05am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers issued several citations for disorderly conduct after a fight broke out at a convenience store in the 700 block of E. Washington Ave. A 43-year-old female subject did not leave the area and took a swing at an officer. The subject was uncooperative with officers. The subject was arrested for battery to law enforcement, resisting, and disorderly conduct.
  • 7:52am – East – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a suicidal subject with injuries. MFD transported the subject to a local hospital. Subject left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged. *Officers responded back to the office for an emergency evaluation request of the subject. Final outcome pending.
  • 10:17am – Central – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a report of a deceased subject (25-year-old male). The decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
  • 10:52am – South – Damage to Property: Two vehicles in a parking lot were targeted and had their rear passenger windows smashed out, door handles broken off, and damage to steering column. Investigation continuing.
  • 11:55am – East – Crash: Officers responded to a bicycle vs. vehicle crash (Walter St/Atwood Ave). The bicyclist sustained non-life threatening injuries. The driver was cited for failure to yield.
  • 12:18pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A wanted subject (47-year-old male) was observed by an officer. The subject was arrested and transported to jail.
  • 1:17pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: A wanted subject (17-year-old male) was located, arrested, and transported to jail.
  • 6:32pm – Central – Traffic Stop: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (29-year-old male) was loud, angry, and screaming at the officer. Concerns of impairment were identified. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and they refused. The driver was pulled out of the vehicle. The driver bit an officer. The driver also threatened to beat up an officer. The subject was arrested for threats to law enforcement, battery to law enforcement, and resisting. He was issued several traffic citations.  
  • 10:41pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to Porchlight for a disturbance involving a 42-year-old male subject. The subject claimed the victim owed him money. The subject banged on the victim's door with a metal pole. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.

Sunday, May 17:

  • 12:38am – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: A 48-year-old female subject called their co-worker/victim and threatened to hurt them. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
  • 1:53am – South – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a crash notification. Single vehicle crash located. The driver (24-year-old male) was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
  • 2:21am – Central – Intoxicated Driver: An officer observed a slow-speed crash occur involving a 37-year-old female driver. The subject was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
  • 3:12am – East – Strong Armed Robbery: An officer was flagged down by a victim who reported to have been robbed (37-year-old male subject). The subject was identified and probable cause was developed to arrest him. The subject remains at-large. *Subject located and arrested.
  • 7:31am – East – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen from the street in front of the victim's home. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stole in the appropriate databases.
  • 1:09pm – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject armed with a knife and making suicidal statements. The 32-year-old female subject was located intoxicated and in a manic state. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense) and possession of cocaine.
  • 2:35pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male subject. A verbal argument took place between the subject and the victim. The subject placed the victim in a bear hug in an attempt to get the keys away from them. The victim sustained scratches. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 2:51pm – Central – Battery: Officers responded to the Beacon for a fight involving a 43-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct an battery.  
  • 3:05pm – North – Check Area: Officers responded to a report of two subjects naked and engaging in sexual acts in public. Both subjects contacted (65-year-old male and 41-year-old female). The subjects were arrested on various charges/warrants.
  • 3:39pm – Midtown – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital. Safety plan created. Officers disengaged.
  • 4:17pm – Midtown – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male subject. The victim reported to have been placed in a chokehold by the subject. The victim also reported to have been dragged by the subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.  

Monday, May 18:

  • 2:05am – South – Battery: Officers responded to a battery complaint. The victim reported being assaulted by a group of subjects (not on scene). The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation continuing.
  • 2:29am – East – Adult Arrested Person: Officers observed a wanted subject (46-year-old male). The subject ran from officers. The subject was apprehended. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested on the outstanding warrant, resisting, and bail jumping (6 counts).
