The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on May 28 to 6:00am on May 29, we received 542 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Thursday, May 28:

Priority calls only from 10:21am to 12:21pm due to calls for service.

  • 5:30am - Central – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence where a 49-year-old woman was found deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene. (This was a late call that did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
  • 5:50am - West – Stolen Auto:  A victim reported his vehicle was stolen. The vehicle was located unoccupied with a bullet hole and a damaged steering column. Investigation continuing. (This was a late call that did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
  • 8:00am - South – Traffic Crash: Officers responded to S Park St at Badger Rd where the suspect vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. The vehicle struck a median at a high rate of speed, went through a red light and struck two vehicles. The 29-year-old female suspect was cited for OMVWI 1st.
  • 9:26am - West – Check Person: Officers responded with MFD paramedics to a residence where a man had cut himself. The man was transported to a hospital where he was admitted. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health.
  • 10:09am - East – Arrested Juvenile: Officers responded to a residence where a 14-year-old female suspect was causing issues. Officers conveyed the suspect to JRC as she had absconded from a juvenile shelter and charged her with discharging bodily fluids, threats to LE and resisting.
  • 1:50pm - East – Disturbance: A victim reported that the 30-year-old male suspect sexually assaulted her. Officers made contact with the suspect and determined he had violated bail conditions not to be in contact with the victim. The suspect was arrested for bail jumping. Officers were unable to substantiate charges for any type of assault.
  • 2:38pm - West – Battery: The 36-year-old female suspect was upset by a driving maneuver the victim made. The suspect followed the victim to a gas station where the two began to argue. The suspect attempted to punch and spit at the victim and then bit the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct.
  • 2:46pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to Heistand Park where the 44-year-old male suspect and victim were arguing. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct. Suspect is at large.
  • 4:01pm - South – Trespass: Officers responded to an apartment where property management reported several unauthorized people were located. Three female suspects were arrested for trespass.
  • 4:16pm - South – Disturbance: Officers responded to a business parking lot where staff reported seeing someone with a gun and drum magazine. Witnesses provided the address of an apartment building where the subjects were seen entering. Officers made contact at an apartment with two male juveniles who matched the suspects' descriptions. The juveniles were in possession of a toy water gun. Officers disengaged after talking with a parent.
  • 5:29pm - North – Runaway Juvenile: A mother reported her 13-year-old daughter ran away. Officers listed the juvenile as missing and aired an ATL.
  • 8:44pm - Central – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to a report of two men fighting at a bus stop, one of whom was armed with a knife. A 44-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed, discharging bodily fluids on public safety worker, threats to LE, resisting, and battery to LE.
  • 9:13pm - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 40-year-old male suspect strangled and beat the victim and damaged property. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic strangulation, battery, disorderly conduct and damage to property.
  • 9:15pm - Central – Damage to Property: Officers responded to the 1000 block of E Wilson St where the 21-year-old female suspect was throwing rocks at vehicles. The suspect was arrested and charged with damage to property and disorderly conduct.
  • 10:06pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 46-year-old male suspect threw his phone at the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and multiple counts of bail jumping.
  • 11:31pm - Citywide – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen from the downtown area. Officers located the stolen vehicle in the area of S Park St near the beltline and prepared to conduct a high-risk stop. The suspect driver rammed the squad car in an apparent attempt to strike an officer who was standing outside the squad. Officers pursued the vehicle as it fled the stop but eventually lost sight of it and ended the pursuit. Units from multiple law enforcement agencies attempted to locate the vehicle but were unsuccessful. Investigation continuing.

Friday, May 29:

  • 12:02am - Central – Disturbance: An officer observed the 53-year-old male suspect attacking a woman. The victim did not wish to provide a statement. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct.
  • 12:04am - East – Traffic Arrest: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that violated a red traffic signal. The 39-year-old male driver/suspect was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and several counts of bail jumping.
  • 1:28am - Central – Domestic Disturbance: An officer observed the 30-year-old male suspect dragging the victim in the 300 block of State St. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
  • 1:48am - East – Adult Arrested Person: An officer observed a 40-year-old male suspect who had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was taken into custody and newly charged with resisting and carrying a concealed knife.
