The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on June 2 to 6:00am on June 3, we received 548 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 81
  • East: 107
  • Midtown: 106  
  • North: 80
  • South: 80
  • West: 83
  • Other: 11

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Tuesday, June 2:

Priority calls only from 9:32pm to 11:11pm due to calls for service. 

  • 9:07am – West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance. Parents came home and found their daughter (15-year-old female) with another juvenile (16-year-old male) who was located under a bed naked. The male juvenile sprayed a parent with pepper spray. The female juvenile started a physical altercation with the other parent. The female juvenile punched their parent numerous times. The male juvenile also punched a parent. The male juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Reception Center for charges of disorderly conduct and possession of OC under the age of 18. The female juvenile was provided a Restorative Justice referral for disorderly conduct. 
  • 9:50am – North – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a subject who was released from Winnebago recently, not taking their medications, acting strangely, and making bizarre statements.  Mental health resources consulted.  An emergency detention was requested/supported. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital. Transport back to Winnebago pending. Probable cause also developed to charge the subject with physical abuse of a child and disorderly conduct.  *Transport to Winnebago completed. 
  • 12:02pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a 39-year-old male subject with a warrant on Beld St.  The subject was contacted, taken into custody, and transported to jail (warrant and several outstanding probable cause charges).
  • 3:25pm – South – Adult Arrested Person: Officers had contact with a 41-year-old male subject earlier in the day on a check person call. Local mental health resources were consulted and decision was made to disengage. Several hours later officers responded to a report of a subject lunging at passing vehicles. The subject was contacted and arrested. The subject resisted officers and head butted an officer. The subject was arrested for threats to law enforcement, battery to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, resisting, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • 5:43pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance between a parent and their 45-year-old female daughter. The victim invited the subject over for dinner. The subject did not want what the victim was serving so they brought their own food. The subject changed their mind when they arrived at the home and wanted the dinner made by the victim. The victim was upset over this and asked the subject to leave. The subject refused. The situation turned physical. The subject struck the victim in the face. The subject was arrested for domestic batter and domestic disorderly conduct (elder enhancer).
  • 6:16pm – North – Crash: A 29-year-old female subject changed lanes unsafely which caused another driver to swerve which resulted in them losing control and flipping their vehicle. Minor injuries sustained. The 29-year-old driver was cited for unsafe lane deviation.
  • 8:37pm – West – Traffic Arrest:  A traffic stop was conducted. A passenger fled from the vehicle. The driver (34-year-old male) refused to exit the vehicle and cooperate with officers. Officers canvass the area looking for the passenger. An 18-year-old male subject (not the passenger) was located and detained. The subject was being handcuffed when they bolted.  The subject was located in a wooded aera with a backpack containing a large amount of THC. The subject's brother (who was the passenger in the vehicle) remains at-large. The driver was arrested for resisting and cited for a traffic violation. The detained subject was arrested for resisting. Additional charges forthcoming. Investigation continuing.
  • 9:24pm – West – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a child with mental health concerns trashing the house and assaulting their parent. Contact made with the family. Local mental health provider consulted. Emergency detention explored but not supported. Safety plan developed and officers disengaged.
  • 10:42pm – Central – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (38-year-old female) was found to be impaired. She was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. The driver's responsible party (35-year-old male) arrived under the influence. He was also arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense).

Wednesday, June 3:

  • 12:19am – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to N. Butler St for a subject screaming “get off me." Contact made with the victim who reported a disturbance occurred involving a 34-year-old male subject (not on scene). The subject was located and detained. Probable cause was developed to arrest the subject. The subject was transported to jail for domestic disorderly conduct, simple battery, domestic strangulation, robbery with use of force, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
