The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on June 3 to 6:00am on June 4, we received 537 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 91
  • East: 124
  • Midtown: 82  
  • North: 84
  • South: 79
  • West: 65
  • Other: 12

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, June 3:

Priority calls only from 11:03am to 11:10am due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 11:56am to 1:11pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 1:30pm to 3:50pm due to calls for service. 

  • 7:57am – East – Fraud: Victim's family member reported that the victim was involved in a scam. Officers set up at the residence as the scammers were supposed to arrive to collect the money. At the time of this writing, no one showed up to the home. Investigation continuing. 
  • 10:34am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a wanted subject (30-yaer-old male) present at the library and cutting off their ankle bracelet. Officers arrived on scene. The subject observed officers and fled on foot. The subject was apprehended. The subject was arrested for resisting and a parole hold. 
  • 11:45am – Central – Fatal Crash: Officers responded to the 800 block of E. Washington Ave for a vehicle vs. pedestrian fatality crash. Investigation continuing. 
  • 2:09pm – East – Runaway Juvenile: A 14-yaer-old male subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
  • 3:30pm – West – Theft: Officers responded to a business on West Towne Way for a retail theft complaint involving a 19-year-old male subject. The subject was contacted and arrested for felony retail theft.
  • 7:14pm – Central – Trespassing:  Officers responded to the 1100 block of E. Johnson Street for an unwanted subject (43-year-old male) loitering in a backyard. The owner asked the subject to leave and he refused. The subject was contacted, arrested, and transported to jail to post on a municipal trespassing citation.

Thursday, June 4:

  • 12:36am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot (1200 block of Williamson St). A 22-year-old female subject was contacted and was arrested on a bench warrant.
  • 3:53am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Contact made with a 48-year-old male subject who was in the roadway. The subject was found to have an outstanding warrant from 2012. The subject was transported to jail.
