The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on June 4 to 6:00am on June 5, we received 502 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 95
  • East: 103
  • Midtown: 85
  • North: 92
  • South: 86
  • West: 70
  • Other: 10

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, June 4:

Priority calls only from 10:38am to 11:19am, 3:57pm to 6:34pm, 6:50pm to 8:20pm, and 9:37pm to 11:54pm due to calls for service.

  • 5:04am - Central – Disturbance:  Officers responded to a report of a 23-year-old male suspect yelling and throwing things. Upon being taken into custody, the suspect fought with officers. The suspect was charged with resisting, battery to LE, and disorderly conduct. (This was a late call that did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
  • 7:24am - North – Traffic Crash: Officers responded to the intersection of American Pkwy and Eastpark Blvd where the 20-year-old male suspect/driver struck a median and struck a vehicle stopped at a red light. The suspect was arrested and charged with reckless driving and failure to keep vehicle under control.
  • 11:41am - West – Assist Police: SWAT assisted an outside agency by executing a search warrant in an attempt to locate a homicide suspect. The suspect was taken into custody and transported by the outside agency to their jurisdiction.
  • 11:48am - South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 23-year-old male suspect assaulted the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic battery, strangulation and disorderly conduct.
  • 11:50am - North – Damage to Property: Officers responded to the 1200 block of N Sherman Ave where the 61-year-old male suspect damaged and removed power cords from numerous food trucks. The suspect was arrested and charged with damage to property and theft. During the investigation, officers made contact with a 37-year-old female suspect who had a warrant for her arrest and who was discovered to be violating her bail conditions. The female suspect was taken into custody on the warrant and newly charged with bail jumping.
  • 3:28pm - West – Disturbance: Officers responded to where a 25-year-old female and a 26-year-old female were engaged in a physical altercation. The 25-year-old female suspect was arrested and charged with 1st degree reckless endangerment. 
  • 5:33pm - Central – Sexual Assault: A victim reported that the 29-year-old male suspect, whom she did not know, grabbed her buttocks. Officers located the suspect and arrested him for 4th degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.
  • 6:39pm - North – Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a residence where the 17-year-old female suspect stole a puppy from the victim. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for burglary, theft of a domestic animal and bail jumping. Suspect is at large.
  • 8:52pm - Central – Disturbance: The victim reported that the 44-year-old male suspect struck him with a gun during an argument. The suspect was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct. Three female suspects were arrested for resisting as they refused to exit the bathroom where they were hiding. 
  • 8:53pm - East – Check Person: Officers responded to a bridge over the beltline where a man was sitting on a guard rail. Several law enforcement agencies assisted with closing the beltline and MFD firefighters helped the man come down off the bridge. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health. The 33-year-old suspect was charged for disorderly conduct.
  • 10:44pm - Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence where the 20-year-old female suspect was arguing with the victim and tried to force her way into the room where the victim had gone to create distance. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
