Madison Police Refer Charges After Passenger Causes a Motor Vehicle Crash

Madison Police were called to investigate a single vehicle accident with airbags deployed in the area of Whitney Way and the Beltline. When officers arrived, they contacted both occupants of the vehicle. The driver explained to police that the passenger became upset after she received a phone call and grabbed the wheel of the car and pulled the wheel; causing the vehicle to crash. Both occupants were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. The vehicle's passenger, Tedrick Smith, was arrested for 2nd Degree Reckless Endangering Safety.
