The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on June 26 to 6:00am on June 29 we received 1,273 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, June 26:
Priority calls only from 9:52am to 12:13pm due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 10:34pm to 11:10pm due to calls for service.
- 3:09am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a 28-year-old male subject standing in a parking lot in his boxers only and bleeding. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to dialogue with the subject. The subject would not respond to officers. The subject advanced towards officers. A taser was deployed to take the subject into custody. Investigation showed a disturbance took place involving the subject and a family member who reported that the subject had been acting strange and had consumed mushrooms. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Local mental health resources consulted. Probable cause developed to charge the subject. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
- 9:48am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a 25-year-old male subject yelling and displayed a machete. All other occupants in the home exit, except for the subject. Phone contact made with the subject. He refused to come out of the residence. Decision made to disengage. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the subject.
- 11:42am – East – Intoxicated Driver: A 43-year-old male subject/driver rear-ended an officer at a low speed (Cottage Grove Rd/Stoughton Rd). The driver showed signs of impairment and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
- 3:54pm – Central – Disturbance: A 33-year-old male subject entered a business on State Street and caused a disturbance. The subject attempted to punch a person but missed. The subject then threw a hard hat at the person which struck them in the face. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery, and a probation hold.
- 10:02pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 41-year-old male subject. The subject was intoxicated and punched another person in the face. The subject grabbed a second person by the throat and strangled them. The subject was arrested for strangulation, battery (2 counts), and disorderly conduct (2 counts). Charges are all domestic-related.
- 10:20pm – Midtown – Adult Arrested Person: A 30-year-old male subject was arrested for criminal damage to property after he threw a landscaping rock at an outer window of a business.
- 10:29pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a business for a 42-year-old male subject who entered with a knife stating people were trying to rob him. The subject was found hiding in some bushes. No criminal charges substantiated but the subject had several outstanding warrants that he was arrested on.
Saturday, June 27:
Priority calls only from 10:13am to 1:07pm due to calls for service.
- 6:43am – West – Crash: Officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash (Junction Rd/Mineral Point Rd). The driver (27-year-old male) lost control of their vehicle, struck a traffic pole, and flipped his vehicle. The subject left the scene, went to a hotel room, and collapsed. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Injuries not life threatening. The subject was cited for failure to maintain control, operating a vehicle with no valid DL, and no insurance.
- 10:06am – East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (49-year-old female). A crack pipe, empty bottles of alcohol, and multiple medications located near the subject. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 11am – South – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of subject who stabbed themselves. The subject lives in a care facility. Injuries not life threatening. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Local mental health provider plugged in. Final outcome pending.
- 11:58am – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for the homeowner (64-year-old female) wanting another person removed from their home. Officers were on scene mediating the situation and were able to convince the person to leave the residence. Despite this occurring, the homeworker became impatient and started a physical altercation with the person/victim. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
- 1:33pm – Central – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a report of a 3-vehicle crash on Williamson Street. A 58-year-old male driver involved deviated from his lane, struck a parked vehicle, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck a 2nd parked vehicle. No injuries sustained. The driver showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense), operating after revocation, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a probation/parole hold.
- 2:20pm – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence. A 46-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
- 4:49pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (29-year-old female) having a psychotic breakdown. The subject was contacted and showed signs of impairment. The subject admitted to recent meth use. The subject threatened to kill her sister earlier in the day. CARES consulted. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
- 5:16pm – North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (80-year-old female subject). Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 6:39pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 44-year-old female subject. It was reported that a knife was involved. Officers arrived to a chaotic scene with lots of yelling and uncooperative subjects. The female subject was found to have caused a physical altercation. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, threats to law enforcement, and discharge of bodily fluids at law enforcement.
Sunday, June 28:
Priority calls only from 6:08am to 10:44am due to calls for service.

- 12:32am – West – Check Property: Officers responded to a neighborhood for a group of 4 people trying to kick in the front door. It was reported to have occurred at 2 homes in the neighborhood. Entry not made to either home. Investigation continuing.
- 5:34am – North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (33-year-old male). Decedent has a history of drug use. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
- 5:39am – West – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted, placed into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention evaluation (sought/approved). The subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago.
- 5:58am – East – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to a report of a subject being shot at numerous times. No injuries reported. Casings located/recovered. A gun involved was located/recovered. A 24-year-old male subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety. A 23-year-old male subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety (party to a crime) and an outstanding warrant.
- 6:04am – North – Disturbance: A victim reported they had been shot at (not struck/no injuries). The victim reported they had been involved in a verbal altercation the night before. Several locations checked for the potential suspect. No casings/evidence of shots fired located. Investigation continuing.
- 7:36am – South – Residential Burglary: An unknown subject entered a house through an open garage. The subject stole pain medications, wallets, credit cards, car keys, and a vehicle. The vehicle was located abandoned in Sun Prairie. Investigation continuing.
- 12:58pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 52-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation/parole hold.
- 3:03pm – South – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 13-year-old female subject armed with a knife. The juvenile was engaged in a verbal argument with their mother. The subject stabbed the bathroom door, where her mother was hiding, approximately 10x. The subject left the residence. Areas canvassed. The subject was located and arrested for battery (2 counts), disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts), and criminal damage to property. The subject was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.
- 4:04pm – Central – Retail Theft: Officers responded to a business for a retail theft involving a 39-year-old male subject. The subject left the business but was located nearby. The subject was not cooperative with officers. The subject was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct, resisting causing soft-tissue injury, and discharge of bodily fluids at law enforcement (2 counts).
- 4:59pm – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence, along with EMS/MFD, for a pulseless non-breathing subject (40-year-old male subject). Lifesaving efforts attempted. Medical Examiner's office responded. The subject was pronounced deceased. Autopsy pending. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
- 7:52pm – East – Residential Burglary: Caller reported their ex (36-year-old male) was attempting to kick in their door to gain entry to the home. The subject was not on scene when officers arrived. The subject/vehicle was observed by an officer and a traffic stop was conducted. The subject was initially cooperative but became resistive/combative towards officers. Taser deployed. The subject was arrested for attempted burglary, fleeing/eluding, resisting, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and felony bail jumping.
- 8:09pm – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic false imprisonment, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping.
- 9:50pm – East – Child Abuse: Officers responded to a residence for a report of child abuse involving a 50-year-old female subject. It was reported that the subject used a belt on a child numerous times which left marks. It was also reported that the subject picked up and threw the child on the ground. Contact attempted with the subject without success. The child was no longer in the residence and was with a family member safe. Child Protective Services notified. Investigation continuing.
- 11:24pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
Monday, June 29:
Priority calls only started at 5:40am due to calls for service and remains at the time of this writing.
- 12:53am – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male subject. The subject has parole conditions to not be around the victim or to be drinking. The subject showed up at the victim's home intoxicated and caused a disturbance. No charges were established from the disturbance due to the parties being uncooperative. The subject was arrested on a parole violation.
