The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on July 6 to 6:00am on July 7, we received 479 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 84
- East: 113
- Midtown: 82
- North: 67
- South: 62
- West: 60
- Other: 11
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Monday, July 6:
Priority calls only from 12:37pm to 3:23pm due to calls for service.

5:47am – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 19-year-old female subject. The two subjects had an argument about things found on one of their phones. The subject punched the victim numerous times, which resulted in the victim sustaining a black eye. The subject continued to hit the victim, bite the victim, and pulled the victim's hair. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct.
- 8:39am – East – Adult Arrested Person: DOC issued a warrant for their client (46-year-old male) who was violating the terms of their supervision. Officers located/arrested the subject.
- 2:18pm – Central – Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious subject (28-year-old male) who walked into a church and entered an efficiency apartment. Staff were not familiar with this person and the resident was not home. Officers made contact with the subject who began to resist them when they went to detain him. The subject was arrested for burglary and resisting.
- 2:58pm – East – Adult Arrested Person: A 21-year-old male subject entered a business and waved a gun around. The subject was contacted and found to have a fake gun. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and felony bail jumping.
- 4:54pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 52-year-old female subject. The subject began to fight with officers as they attempted to detain her. The subject pushed an officer and attempted to disarm an officers taser. The subject prevented 2 victims from leaving the residence. The subject pulled the oxygen from one of the victim's that is needed for them to breath. The subject also pushed one of the victims. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, domestic false imprisonment, battery to law enforcement, attempt to disarm a peace officer, and resisting.
- 9:33pm – Central – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (43-year-old male) acting erratically and running into the street (E Johnson St/N Paterson St). Contact made with the subject who was uncooperative and resistive. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.
- 11:33pm – South – Runaway Juvenile: A 17-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway after getting into an argument at home. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
Tuesday, July 7:
- 12:38am – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject and victim were engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical. The subject poured toilet water on the victim. A glass was shattered and the subject picked up/slammed the victim down into the broken glass causing a large laceration which required stitches. The victim tried to call 911 and the subject took their phone away. The victim tried to get away but was pulled back into the residence by the subject. The victim was eventually able to escape. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, domestic disorderly conduct, domestic false imprisonment, strangulation, and felony intimidation of a victim.
