The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on July 9 to 6:00am on July 10, we received 536 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 108
  • East: 105
  • Midtown: 89
  • North: 90
  • South: 61
  • West: 72
  • Other: 11

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Thursday, July 9:

  • 4:00am - North – Sexual Assault: Officers responded to a residence where the victim reported an unidentified man sexually assaulted her. Investigation continuing.
  • 9:26am - North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence where a 64-year-old woman was found deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
  • 4:35pm - East – Child Abuse: Officers responded to a residence to investigate alleged child abuse. An 18-year-old male suspect was arrested for resisting and discharging bodily fluid. Investigation continuing.
  • 12:42pm - Citywide – Assist Police: Officers assisted Fitchburg PD with a call for service where shots were fired. Fitchburg PD took one suspect into custody.
  • 9:28pm - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a bus stop where the 43-year-old male suspect was threatening people. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and threats to LE.

Friday, July 10:

  • 1:01am - Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the 500 block of State St where two 18-year-old female suspects and one 19-year-old female suspect refused to leave after being asked to by staff. Two of the suspects were cited for disorderly conduct and trespass and released. The third suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, trespass and open intox, and conveyed to jail. Officers returned to the area a short time later as the two suspects from the previous disturbance who had been released had locked themselves in the bathroom at Taco Bell and assaulted the manager when she went in to check on them. The suspects were arrested for disorderly conduct and battery and conveyed to jail.
  • 1:02am - East – Drug Incident/Investigation: An officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy 30 and Stoughton Rd on a vehicle traveling over 100mph. Officers learned the 20-year-old male driver/suspect was out on bail. The suspect was arrested for bail jumping, possession with intent to deliver THC, and reckless driving.
