The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on July 17 to 6:00am on July 20 we received 1,379 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 284
- East: 288
- Midtown: 217
- North: 226
- South: 153
- West: 190
- Other: 21
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, July 17:
Priority calls only from 10:17pm to 11:50pm due to calls for service.
- 4:43am – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a pulseless non-breathing subject (82-year-old female). Lifesaving measures attempted but they were not successful. Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 10:30am – North – Recovered Stolen Auto: An officer located a stolen vehicle parked and unoccupied. Vehicle returned to its owner.
- 4:07pm – Central – Check Area: Officers responded to a location that had been identified as a location for an unsanctioned party. Numerous subjects on scene were found to be trespassing. A 22-year-old female subject was arrested on outstanding warrants. The party was shut down. Citations to be issued to those in attendance.
- 5:03pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 24-year-old female subject attempted to board a bus without paying and caused a disturbance. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.
- 5:23pm – West – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 61-year-old male subject. Several subjects contacted. Subjects were spending time together drinking. A verbal argument started which turned into a physical altercation. The subject armed himself with a knife and threatened to harm the victims. One of the victims sustained visible injuries. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed.
- 7:44pm – Midtown – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a report of a driver going the wrong way. Driver/vehicle observed and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver (23-year-old female) failed field sobriety tests. She attempted to flee from officers on foot. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), resisting, possession of cocaine, and escape from police custody.
- 9:56pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old male subject. The subject slapped the victim in the face. The subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child, disorderly conduct, and a probation hold.
- 10pm – West – Check Area: Officers responded to Elver Park for reports of shots fired. A victim reported they were shot at as they were in their vehicle (no injuries). Casings located. Investigation continuing.
Saturday, July 18:

- 1:14am – South – Check Area: Officers responded to the 1800 block of S. Park Street for shots fired. Areas canvassed. No evidence of shots fired located at this time. Witness reported observing two subjects with guns pointed at one another, followed by shots fired.
- 5:03am – Midtown – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and placed into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital and a mental health evaluation was conducted. An emergency detention was sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
- 8:24am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to an apartment complex for a 22-year-old male subject not letting people get by him, for urinating in the stairwell, and locking himself in the lobby bathroom. The subject was arrested for depositing human waste. Local mental health provider notified.
- 9:05am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, domestic intimidation of a victim, bail jumping (2 counts), and resisting.
- 10:34am – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers met with a victim who reported domestic incidents involving a 33-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 10:43am – Central – Check Person: Officers were approached by numerous subjects reporting that a 23-year-old male subject was running up to them, screaming at them, and throwing food at them. The subject was contacted by officers. Probable cause was developed to arrest the subject for disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping, and threats to law enforcement.
- 11:26am – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 48-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
- 12:11pm – North – Check Area: Officers responded to Brentwood Parkway/Trailsway reference shots fired. No evidence of shots fired located at this time.
- 1:34pm – Central – Fraud: A victim reported their wallet was recently lost and their cards were being used at several businesses on State Street. A 25-year-old female subject was contacted and found to be in possession of the victim's cards. The subject was arrested for fraud and a probation hold.
- 2:59pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a fight at the Beacon involving a 32-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for battery, discharge of bodily fluids, and resisting.
- 3:17pm – North – Fight Call: Officers responded to a report of a large fight with a knife and pepper spray involved. A 15-year-old female subject was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center for disorderly conduct while armed.
- 6:54pm – West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a hotel for a report of a 24-year-old female subject down in the pool. Lifesaving measures were attempted but they were not successful.. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
Sunday, July 19:

- 12:10am – Central – Disturbance: Officers observed a fight on State Street. A 14-year-old female subject was cited/released with a restorative justice referral.
- 12:49am – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of vehicles in a street, large crowds, and noise. Two subjects (25-year-old male and 33-year-old male) were observed actively fighting. Both subjects are arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.
- 6:04am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and domestic criminal damage to property.
- 1:54pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 52-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
- 3:18pm – East – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a report of a subject (54-year-old male) passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle in a parking lot. The subject was contacted and found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense).
- 3:42pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 38-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 6:31pm – South – Disturbance: Officers responded to road rage incident where a 31-year-old male subject confronted the victim who inadvertently cut them off. The subject punched the victim in the head. The subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child, battery, and disorderly conduct.
- 9:18pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
- 11:56pm – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a 911 disconnect. Contact made with two subjects. A disturbance was found to have occurred. A 38-year-old male subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
