Man injured during stabbing on south side

A man drove over to the Madison Police Department's South District station after being stabbed.

The stabbing took place around 5:20 a.m. on July 12.

A man was bleeding as he arrived to the police station. He told officers the incident occurred at a home along the 1700 block of Baird St. His personal property was also damaged during the incident.

The victim and suspect were known to one another. 

The suspect turned herself into a law enforcement agency in another county last Tuesday. Yeison O. Meijia Gutierrez, 26, was arrested for 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety and criminal damage to property.

This is an ongoing investigation.
