Daily Calls: July 24-July 27, 2026

The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on July 24 to 6:00am on July 27 we received 1,085 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

• Central: 264
• East: 255
• Midtown: 175   
• North: 169
• South: 86
• West: 119
• Other: 17

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Friday, July 24:

Priority calls only from 12:01pm to 12:10pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 6:45pm to 12:21am due to calls for service. 

• 7:46am – Midtown – Unwanted Person:  Officers responded to a business for a report of a subject sleeping on their premises. The subject was contacted and cooperative with officers. The subject left the premises without issues and officers disengaged.
• 8:52am – North – Attempt to Locate: DOC requested MPD locate/arrest a client (36-year-old male) of theirs who violated the terms of their supervision. The subject was located, arrested, and transported to jail.
• 2:07pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a business for a 27-year-old male subject causing a disturbance. The subject punched a victim in the head and fled the area. Officers located/detained the subject. The subject was arrested for simple battery and disorderly conduct.
• 2:53pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a bus stop for a disturbance involving 3 subjects, including a 42-year-old male subject. The subject struck 2 victims multiple times. One of the victims required staples for their injuries. The subject was arrested for simple battery and substantial battery. One of the victims was transported to jail after being released from the hospital due to outstanding warrants and probable cause.
• 10:35pm – East – Check Area: Officers responded to Trafalger Place for a report of shots fired. Areas checked. No evidence of shots fired at this time.

Saturday, July 25:

Priority calls only from 9am-3:24pm due to calls for service. 

• 12:39am – South – Weapons Offense: Staff from McDonalds called to report that a subject pointed a gun at them through the drive-thru window. The subject/vehicle left the area. Vehicle information obtained. Attempts were made to contact the registered owner, without success. Investigation continuing.
• 8:29am – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
• 11:55am – East – Recovered Stolen Vehicle: A suspicious vehicle was called in.  The vehicle was checked and found to have a window smashed and the ignition punched. The registered owner was contacted and they were not aware that their vehicle was taken/stolen. Vehicle returned to its owner.
• 6:21pm – Midtown – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (60-year-old male). The subject was determined to be deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. The decedent has a history of significant health concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.
• 6:44pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to an apartment complex for a disturbance involving several subjects, including an 18-year-old male and a 34-year-old female. The female subject prompted her son to physically assault a victim. The male subject punched the victim in the face and bit the victim multiple times. The female subject joined in and battered the victim as well. The male subject fled before officers arrived. The female subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery. Charges pending for the male subject, who remains at-large.
• 8:31pm – South – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Entry was made to the subject's residence to check their welfare. The subject was located unconscious. The subject was transported to a local hospital and left in the care of medical staff.
• 11:47pm – West – Armed Robbery: Officers responded to an armed robbery at a convenience store. The subject stole cash and fled on foot. Investigation continuing.

Sunday, July 26:

• 12:42pm – East – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of two subjects fighting. A 43-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.  
• 8:43pm – Central – Child Neglect: Officers received a request to check on the welfare of two young children running on E. Dayton near the road partially undressed with feces running down their legs. Contact made with the subjects who were supposed to be watching the children (25-year-old female and 22-year-old female).  Both subjects were arrested for child neglect. CPS notified.
• 10:33pm – Midtown – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct (with a hate crime enhancer), retail theft, disorderly conduct, and felony bail jumping (4 counts).

Monday, July 27:

• 12:01am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of a convenience store. A victim sustained visible injuries. A 23-year-old female subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery (elder abuse enhancer), possession of narcotics, felony bail jumping, and a probation hold.
