The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on July 27 to 6:00am on July 28, we received 425 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

• Central: 72
• East: 91
• Midtown: 81  
• North: 61
• South: 59
• West: 57
• Other: 4

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

 Monday, July 27:

Priority calls only from 10:02am to 3:22pm due to calls for service. 

 9:57am – Central – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to the 1800 block of E. Washington Ave for reports of a shooting. Two subjects were located – one deceased and one with injuries. Incident Report released on MPD's website. Investigation continuing. 

• 11:48am – North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a report of a deceased subject (66-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified. 
• 2:30pm – South – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance. An 18-year-old female subject and an 18-year-old male subject were arguing when the victim attempted to intervene to stop the argument. Both subjects attacked the victim. The victim sustained visible injuries. The male subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. The female subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
• 2:55pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 38-year-old male subject. The subject was upset with the victim and struck them several times. The victim sustained visible injuries. The subject was arrested for physical abuse of a child and domestic disorderly conduct.
• 4pm – North – Drug Incident: A tip came in about a vehicle selling drugs out of it (1900 block of Northport). Officers located/observed the vehicle and witnessed 3 hand-to-hand sales. Officers contacted the occupants of the vehicle (32-year-old male and 30-year-old male). K9 alerted on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana in separate baggies as well as cash. Both subjects arrested for possession with intent to deliver THC.
• 11:23pm – Central – Missing Adult: A 28-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was located safe.

Tuesday, July 28:

• 12:09am – East – Adult Arrested Person: The victim contacted their parent to report they were being held against their will by their partner/subject (20-year-old male). Officers responded to the address for the subject and made entry when no one answered. No one was home. The subject's vehicle was observed by officers. Contact was made with the subject and the victim who was also in the vehicle. The victim would not provide a statement to officers, so no probable cause was developed. The subject was arrested for obstruction after he lied about his identity. The subject was also charged with misdemeanor bail jumping.
• 2:34am – South – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver/subject (43-year-old female) was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense).
