• Schroeder Road Study: Item 9 (Legistar 94196) on the Board of Works August 5 agenda is for approval of a contract with SEH for design, engineering, and public engagement for infrastructure improvement projects on E. Washington Ave and Schroeder Rd.
• District 19 Chip Sealing Update: Due to the recent heat, smoke, several rain days, and overlapping city construction projects, the City has extended this contract to August 19. One week of active chip sealing work remains. Secondary sweepings of the final streets will take place the first week of August followed by City engineering inspection and final clean up activity. Expect pavement marking installation to continue into late August and possibly into September. Please exercise patience and drive slowly in active pavement marking zones. [posted by Engineering July 27]
• Bird & Nature Adventures | Owen, Saturday, August 8: Being in Nature ~ Join Naturalist Sheila Knerr for a wander about Owen Park as we use all of our senses to explore the land and share what we find.

• Water Main Flushing: Madison's Water Utility will be flushing water mains this week between University Avenue and Lake Mendota, west of Whitney Way.

• Castle Creek Improvements, Wednesday, August 5: The Castle Creek Improvements Project is the result of recommendations from the Warner Lagoon Water Quality Plan and the Warner Park and Cherokee Marsh Watershed Study. The project will consist of tree clearing, removal of the concrete section of the existing channel, and regrading to widen and lower the existing channel. A public information meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Aug. 5, 2026, via Zoom. Registration prior is required.
