The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on August 5 to 6:00am on August 6, we received 328 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 64
  • East: 65
  • Midtown: 51  
  • North: 49
  • South: 42
  • West: 50
  • Other: 7

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, August 5:

  •  10:05am – West – Battery: Officers responded to a battery complaint involving of a victim who resides at a memory care facility. A staff member was identified as the suspect and was placed on leave by the facility. Investigation continuing. 
  • 4:58pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a business for a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a probation/parole hold.
  • 10:10pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 28-year-old male subject was observed obstructing the intersection of Williamson St/Baldwin St multiple times. The subject was observed digging through their backpack and adjusting their waistband. The subject was contacted/detained and found to be in possession of a handgun. The subject was arrested for obstruction of roadway, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting, and felony bail jumping.

Thursday, August 6:

  • 1:04am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male subject. The subject was heavily intoxicated and physically assaulted their partner. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping.
