The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on August 7 to 6:00am on August 10 we received 1,176 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 263
- East: 265
- Midtown: 161
- North: 208
- South: 109
- West: 135
- Other: 35
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, August 7:
Priority calls only from 8:32am to 12:37pm due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 1:50pm to 4:31pm due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 4:59pm to 12:16am due to calls for service.
- 8:27am – North – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
- 9:57am – North – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a subject who stabbed themselves. The subject was transported to a local hospital and was agreeing to accept services voluntarily. Officers disengaged.
- 11:57am – Midtown – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital. An emergency detention was sought/approved. Transport/placement pending.
- 1:32pm – North – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen by a known acquaintance (32-year-old male) to the victim. The vehicle was located and observed to be driven by the subject. The subject was taken into custody and charged with operating a motor vehicle without consent, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping (4 counts).
- 4:41pm – South – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance between a parent and their adult child. Probable cause developed to charge the adult child (domestic disorderly conduct, battery, intimidation of a victim). The adult child was taken into protective custody on a Chapter 51 return.
- 5:53pm – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, lewd/lascivious behavior, and bail jumping.
Saturday, August 8:
Priority calls only from 2:24am to 7:43am due to calls for service.

- 1:43am – East – Sexual Assault of a Child: Officers received a report of a sexual assault of a child. CPS plugged in. Investigation continuing.
- 5:16am – West – Intoxicated Driver: An impaired driver (30-year-old male) crashed into a traffic pole, knocking it down. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
- 12:18pm – West – Adult Arrested Person: A hotel called to report significant damage was done to a hotel room by a 31-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for felony criminal damage to property.
- 12:30pm – East – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (45-year-old male) passed out in a vehicle in a business parking lot. Upon opening the car door to check on the subject, a tinfoil cooker spilled off the subject's lap. Baggies with powder in them were observed in plain view (tested positive for fentanyl), along with other drug paraphernalia. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense), operating after revocation, possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping, misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts), and 3 bench warrants.
- 3:55pm – East – Theft: Officers responded to a business for a retail theft in progress involving a 24-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
- 6:23pm – Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 44-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested earlier this summer which resulted in bail conditions for the subject to not be in a certain area of town, around the victim, or to possess any weapons. The subject went to the area that he is banned from being in, located the victim, and threatened the victim. Police arrived in the area and the subject fled on foot. Areas canvassed. Subject observed. Dialogue attempted with the subject, who was armed. The subject refused to drop the weapon and told officers to kill them. Dialogue continued. The subject was eventually taken into custody. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed with use of a dangerous weapon, resisting with use of a dangerous weapon, and bail jumping (3 counts).
- 9:33pm – North – Homicide: Officers responded to the 700 block of Troy Drive for a report of shots fired and a subject injured/shot. A victim was located with multiple gunshot wounds. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but they were not successful. Investigation continuing.
Sunday, August 9:
Priority calls only from 5:02pm to 8:05pm due to calls for service.
- 2:42am – Midtown – Sexual Assault: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.
- 5:24am – City-Wide – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject with a gunshot wound to their hand. The subject was highly intoxicated and unable to provide a coherent statement. Investigation continuing.
- 8:25am – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery while armed, domestic disorderly conduct while armed, domestic burglary, and felony bail jumping.
- 5:51pm – East – Check Person: The victim, who was a passenger in a vehicle, opened the door and rolled out while the vehicle was travelling approximately 55mph.
- 7:27pm – North – Check Area: An officer stopped out with a vehicle that was smoking. As the officer was making their way to the vehicle a 39-year-old female subject ran. The subject was apprehended. The subject was arrested for resisting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a probation hold. A second subject also fled on foot and remains at-large.
- 9:20pm – West – Child Abuse: Officers responded to a report of a 40-year-old male subject abusing a child at a business. Video was observed which showed the subject striking the child multiple times in the face, kicking the child, and throwing the child to the ground. The subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child. CPS notified.
Monday, August 10:
Priority calls only from 12:54am to 8:03am due to calls for service.
- 12:47am – Central – Hit-and-Run: Officers responded to an automated crash alert in the 1800 block of Helena St. A 42-year-old male subject was observed running from the vehicle into a garage. The subject was detained. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), resisting, and fleeing/eluding.
