Disturbance

Madison officers responded to the Rodeway Inn and Suites for a disturbance in one of the hotel rooms. 

When officers arrived, they learned the suspect became angry and picked up a butcher knife. The suspect used the knife to stab the door and prevented anyone from leaving. 

A victim inside attempted to de-escalate the situation but the suspect turned the knife on the victim and made a slashing motion towards the victim's throat. 

Officers and EMS arrived and treated the victim for a laceration to the neck. The victim declined to be transported and did not have any life-threatening injuries. 

The suspect, Jamie Sanchez Vasquez, was arrested for first degree reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct while armed, and false imprisonment.
