The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on August 24 to 6:00am on August 25, we received 414 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 71
  • East: 104
  • Midtown: 66  
  • North: 73
  • South: 42
  • West: 51
  • Other: 7

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Monday, August 24:

Priority calls only from 10:34am to 4:01pm due to calls for service. 

  • 4:47am – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to the Salvation Army for a disturbance involving a 46-year-old female subject. The subject was pushing staff around. The subject left the building but was located/detained. The subject was not cooperative with officers and resisted arrest. The subject kicked at and struck an officer in the head while in the back seat of the squad. The subject was arrested for battery to law enforcement, threats to law enforcement, resisting, and disorderly conduct. 
  • 6:27am – East – Stolen Vehicle: A vehicle was reported stolen from a residential driveway. Vehicle tracked and located unoccupied. Vehicle returned to its owner.  
  • 7:56am – North – Adult Arrested Person: DOC issued a warrant for a 30-year-old male subject/client of theirs. The subject was contacted and arrested by officers.  
  • 11:28am – West – Weapons Offense: Resident reported they heard a bang and observed a bullet came through the ceiling into their unit. No injuries reported. Numerous subjects contacted. Guns were located. Investigation continuing. 
  • 2:02pm – North – Missing Adult:  A 77-year-old male subject with recent health problems and dementia was reported as missing from a hospital where they were admitted. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was located at home and able to be returned to the hospital for continued care.
  • 8:08pm – Central – Check Person: Officers responded to a report of a subject in the roadway who was unclothed and “thrashing around." EMS also responded. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital. Subject reported they had been sexually assaulted. Limited information provided.  Scene not identified. Investigation continuing.

Tuesday, August 25:

Priority calls only from 1:44am to 2:10am due to calls for service. 

  • 2:36am – Central – Disturbance:  Officers observed a disturbance involving a 48-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, resisting, and a probation hold.
