The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on September 9 to 6:00am on September 10, we received 456 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

• Other: 9

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Wednesday, September 9:

Priority calls only from 12:16pm to 3:19pm due to calls for service.  

• 7:58am – East – Check Person: Officers responded to a disturbance with a subject who has severe mental health concerns and is not taking their medication. The subject physically assaulted their adult child by punching them in the head and face, as well as kneeing them in the stomach multiple times. The subject was contacted by officers. The subject was not cooperative with officers. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention evaluation. Evaluation pending. Probable cause developed to charge the subject with domestic battery and disorderly conduct. *Emergency detention supported. The subject was transported to Winnebago. 
• 8:32am – Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Caller reported their spouse (35-year-old female), whom they are going through a divorce with, stabbed their vehicle tires. The subject was arrested for domestic criminal damage to property.  
• 11:53am – North – Battery: Officers responded to East High School for a disturbance between a student and a staff member. The student was charged with battery and disorderly conduct.  
• 12:08pm – East – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a report of a deceased subject (66-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.
• 3:58pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: A 45-year-old female subject was parked at a gas pump when the victim entered the parking lot and parked near the subject. The subject believed they could not move their vehicle due to the position of the victim's vehicle. The subject yelled at the victim and honked at them. The subject got out of her vehicle and approached the subject with a box cutter. The subject threatened to harm the victim and then left the area. The subject was contacted and arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
• 6:40pm – Midtown – Disturbance:  Officers responded to several reports of a fight on Allied Drive. Investigation showed that a 37-year-old female subject asked the victim for a cigarette and when they refused the subject assaulted the victim. Both subjects were intoxicated and reportedly under the influence of cocaine. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. While taking the subject into custody, she resisted officers, and kicked an officer several times. Subject required a medical clearance. Subject left in the care of medical staff due to turn-around time for the clearance. The subject was cited for disorderly conduct and given an order-in for battery to a police officer.  
• 11:48pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 43-year-old male subject was heard roaring loudly from behind a dumpster which led to several subjects running from the area. The subject spotted an officer and made threatening statements to them. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and threats to law enforcement.

Thursday, September 10:

• 1:12am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance. Officers contacted several subjects at the residence. It was reported that 2 subjects were out at bars drinking and came home being very loud. One of the subjects (26-year-old female) got in the face of their roommate after being told to quiet down, as well as taking a boxing stance with them. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
• 1:44am – West – Crash: A single vehicle crash was reported (McKee Rd/Maple Valley Dr).  The driver (21-year-old male) was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
