The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 72 hours (Friday morning to Monday morning).
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on September 11 to 6:00am on September 14 we received 1,253 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

- Other: 32
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Friday, September 11:
Priority calls only from 8:20am to 10:36am due to calls for service.
Priority calls only from 11:25am to 12:50pm due to calls for service.

- 8:13am – North – Crash: Officers responded to a motorcycle crash (N. Stoughton Rd/Reider Rd). Witness reported that the motorcyclist passed them travelling at a high rate of speed when they struck a median, struck a traffic sign, and was subsequently thrown off the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Alcohol bottles were located in the saddlebag of the motorcycle. Investigation continuing.
- 11:08am – East – Fraud: A 33-year-old male subject attempted to use a stolen credit card at a store. The subject fled the store and into another business. The subject was apprehended and arrested felony bail jumping (2 counts), resisting, and outstanding warrants. Investigation continuing reference fraud charges.
- 1:07pm – West – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (72-year-old female subject) who had not been seen/heard from in awhile. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 4:05pm – East – Disturbance: An 18-year-old male subject was in a store and was contacted by staff about being in the restroom and blocking the door. The subject slapped an employee in the face and fled the store. The subject was located inside of another store. The subject was arrested and found to be in possession of a loaded handgun. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.
- 6:32pm – East – Road Rage: A 21-year-old female driver/subject pulled up next to the victim on the Beltline and flashed a handgun and pointed it straight up into the air in the vehicle. Contact made at the subject's residence. Phone contact made with the subject who was advised police had probable cause for her arrest. The subject turned herself in at the jail. Gun recovered. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
- 10:27pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject. The subject fled the residence before officers arrived. The subject was located/arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, and multiple counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.
Saturday, September 12:

- 2:38am – Central – Stolen Auto: A vehicle was reported stolen on State Street (vehicle was left running and unoccupied). Vehicle tracked and located. A 35-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), theft, and possession of cocaine.
- 6:49am – East – Check Person: Officers responded to a residence for a subject needing mental health intervention. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought/supported. Placement pending.
- 7:38am – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
- 9:34am – Central – Strong Armed Robbery: Victim reported being robbed the night before at Tenney Park. The suspect took the victim's wallet, took the money, and threw the wallet back at the victim.
- 12:39pm – East – Sexual Assault of a Child: Victim reported being sexually assaulted. Person of interest contacted and interviewed. Investigation continuing.
- 3:48pm – North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (74-year-old male). The subject was determined to be deceased. The decedent had health/medical concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
- 6:02pm – Central – Crash: Officers responded to a crash at John Nolen Dr/S Broom St. A driver (32-year-old male) was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
- 8:16pm – South – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 38-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, and domestic strangulation.
- 10:42pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject. The victim was able to escape the residence with their children. Probable cause developed to charge/arrest the subject. Safety plan created. Decision made to disengage from the residence with the subject being the only one inside and having access to a weapon.
Sunday, September 13:

- 6:59am – North – Adult Arrested Person: DOC requested officers locate/arrest a client (30-year-old male) of theirs for violating the terms of their release. The subject was located, arrested, and transported to jail.
- 9:08am – North – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a report of a deceased subject (79-year-old male). Nothing suspicious identified.
- 10:06am – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of a Chapter 51 return. Placement pending.
- 10:18am – Midtown – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject who was walking in traffic yelling for help. A 31-year-old male subject was contacted and placed into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought and not supported. The subject was arrested for resisting and threats to law enforcement.
- 11:54am – North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report that a 45-year-old male subject was physically assaulting their dog. Video evidence observed by officers. The subject was detained and resisted officers. The dog was transported to the Humane Society. The subject was arrested for mistreatment of animals, disorderly conduct, and resisting.
- 1:23pm – Central – Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 34-year-old female subject. A witness observed the subject throw a boiling pot of rice onto the victim. The subject armed herself with a knife and fled the residence. The subject was located/detained. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, substantial battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction, a probation hold, and an outstanding warrant.
- 2:13pm – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 61-year-old female subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause was developed to charge the subject, who remains at-large.
- 7:10pm – North – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Officers arrived in the area and observed the subject scaling a fence (on a pedestrian bridge). Officers were able to grab the subject preventing them from going over the fence/bridge. The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Final outcome pending.
- 8:02pm – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. It was reported that a subject had a gun. A subject was contacted/detained. Investigation continuing.
- 8:23pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Officers arrived in the area and observed the subject they believe was connected to the call. The subject (32-year-old male) fled. The subject was apprehended and found to not be the subject they were looking for. The subject was arrested for resisting, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts). The subject was also cited for trespassing.
- 11:08pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers received a request to move along a subject (50-year-old male) who was trespassing at McPike Park. The subject was contacted and given numerous opportunities to leave the area on their own. The subject refused. The subject was arrested. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for resisting and felony bail jumping (2 counts). The subject was also charged with trespassing.
Monday, September 14:
- 2:27am – North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic criminal damage to property, domestic intimidation of a victim, and felony bail jumping (2 counts).
