Man arrested on attempted homicide charges following shooting

A man was arrested on first-degree attempted homicide charges on Thursday.
Jayvion M. Washington, 21, of Madison, was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. on Sherman Ave.
Washington was arrested for a shooting that occurred on the city's north side earlier this week.
On Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of School Road around 11:05 p.m.
An 18-year-old woman and Washington had spent the day arguing and agreed to meet up in person on Vera Ct.
As the woman pulled onto the road, Washington began shooting at her vehicle. She was not injured, but the vehicle was damaged.
The woman and Washington are known to one another.
Detectives with the Violent Crime Unit are leading this open and active investigation.
Washington was taken to the Dane County Jail following his arrest.
