The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on September 22 to 6:00am on September 23, we received 407 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 59
  • East: 94
  • Midtown: 66  
  • North: 65
  • South: 58
  • West: 52
  • Other: 13

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Tuesday, September 22:

Priority calls only from 5:12pm to 7:13pm due to calls for service. 

  • 10:19am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 23-year-old male subject was taken into custody on a probation/parole warrant. The subject was transported to jail. 
  • 2:44pm – Midtown – Mental Health Conveyance: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention (sought/supported). The subject was placed at a local facility and officers disengaged.  
  • 3:03pm – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 36-year-old male subject, with an outstanding warrant, was located/arrested/transported to jail.  
  • 3:46pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded for a report of a subject (36-year-old female) with injuries. The subject was not cooperative with officers and pulled out a box cutter. EMS responded, but was refused by the subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and a probation hold. Probable cause developed to charge/arrest a 19-year-old male subject who assaulted the victim. This subject remains at-large. 
  • 3:59pm – Central – Fraud: Officers responded to a credit union for a report of a subject who was on scene and had been involved in previous fraud transactions. Officers made contact at a vehicle that was occupied with 4 subjects. A 56-year-old male subject attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. The subject had on them a fake ID, along with a fraudulent cashier's check. The subject was arrested for resisting and attempted fraud on a financial institution. A 35-year-old male subject was also arrested for attempted fraud on a financial institution (party to a crime).  
  • 4:15pm – Midtown – Weapons Offense: Officers responded to a local hospital for a report of a subject that stated they were shot in the hand. The victim said they were shot while at a convenience store. Areas checked. No scene located. Cameras were reviewed and no incidents were observed. Investigation continuing.  
  • 4:20pm – South – Check Person: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and agreed to go to a local hospital. The subject was left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged.  
  • 8:13pm – South – Intoxicated Driver: An intoxicated driver (78-year-old male) left the roadway and struck a traffic sign. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (5th offense), criminal operating while revoked, and a probation hold. The driver was also issued several traffic citations.  
  • 8:30pm – Midtown – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. Numerous firearms were removed from the household with permission. Child Protective Services notified due to a child being present at the time of the disturbance.
