The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on September 30 to 6:00am on October 1, we received 462 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 81
- East: 126
- Midtown: 70
- North: 85
- South: 38
- West: 57
- Other: 5
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Wednesday, September 30:
Priority calls only from 12:48pm to 2:49pm due to calls for service.
- 7:57am – West – Recovered Stolen Auto: A vehicle stolen from Deforest was tracked to Ritz Road in Madison. The vehicle was located unoccupied. Registered owner notified.
- 12:27pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: A wanted subject (23-year-old male) was arrested and transported to jail (disorderly conduct while armed).
- 3:34pm – North – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a report of a subject passed out in a vehicle. The subject (39-year-old male) was contacted and he stated he was just sleeping. A gun holster was observed at the feet of the subject. The subject was identified as a felon. The vehicle was frisked for weapons. 2 guns were located. The subject was arrested and charged with possession of firearms by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- 5:34pm – East – Disturbance: A 36-year-old male subject tried to force his way on a bus and caused a disturbance. Officers contacted the subject. The subject was not cooperative and resisted. The subject was arrested for depositing human waste on public safety worker, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts).
- 6:06pm – Central – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old female subject. The subject and victim are roommates. A verbal argument took place which led to items in the home being thrown around. The subject was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause was developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
- 7:45pm – North – Crash with Injuries: Officers responded to an e-scooter crash with the rider being seriously injured. No other motorists were involved. The rider was transported to a local hospital and admitted.
- 11:26pm – East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
Thursday, October 1:
Priority calls only from 12:55am to 2:58am due to calls for service.
- 12:02am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: A 34-year-old male subject repeatedly pulled fire alarms in a hotel. MFD responded to reset the alarms. The subject continued to pull fire alarms, so officers were requested. The subject was contacted and resisted them. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, and attempted battery to law enforcement.
- 12:27am – Central – Intoxicated Driver: Officers responded to a report of a driver/vehicle (32-year-old female) driving their vehicle up on a curb and showing signs of intoxication. Contact made with the subject. Subject failed field sobriety tests. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), disorderly conduct, resisting, battery to law enforcement, attempt to disarm a law enforcement officer, and threats to law enforcement. The subject was also cited for deviation from lane.
- 2:25am – North – Disturbance: Officers responded to a verbal argument with two subjects (21-year-old male subject and 20-year-old female subject). Subjects were contacted. Probable cause not developed for any charges. Officers disengaged. Officers called again for ongoing arguing between the subjects. The male subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. The female subject was arrested for resisting/obstructing.
- 3:15am – Central – Adult Arrested Person: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, felony bail jumping (2 counts), and trespassing.
