Don't Leave Leaves in the Street, Two Big Ribbon Cuttings, and More
postedHi Everyone,
It's that time of year when we're to be reminded to keep leaves out of our streets. Doing so protects the health of our lakes. Click here for all the information you need, including when the city will be coming by to pick up leaves and yard waste on your street.
Two Ribbon Cuttings to Celebrate
This week there are two grand openings worth noting.
First, Park Lofts will celebrate the completion of their project on Wedndesay, October 7, 3pm, at 1150 S. Park St.
I will be out of town, unfortunatley, but in spirit I will be celebrating this important milestone with everyone who helped bring Park Lofts from a vision to reality.
A special shout out to Julian Walters and his team for making this happen. This new development will bring 44 new affordable homes in Madison, with a portion of the units dedicated to young people transitioning out of foster care.
And, second, I'm thrilled that Maurer's Urban Market will be having their ribbon cutting celebration on Saturday, October 10, at 9am.
Unfortunately, I cannot make this one either, as I'll be out of town on business. However, Kristie Maurer has agreed to do a soft opening of the store on Thursday, October 8, from 4pm to 6pm. This is soft opening is scheduled for the benefit of those neighbors who have waited so patiently for this grocery store to open. If you come, you'll be able to not only tour the entire store, but also shop for groceriers and partake of the many fresh food offerings.
This has been a long time coming. As many of you know, I've been working on this for eight years, dating back to before I was elected as your alder in 2019. I'll be at the soft opening on Thursday and hope you will join me!
