Draft Framework to Regulate Data Centers in Madison PMI

The City of Madison's Department of Planning and Community and Economic Development will hold a public information meeting on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, to update community members on a draft framework for proposed zoning regulations for data centers within city limits. The meeting will include a Q&A portion after the staff presentation.Registration will be required to receive a link to the meeting.

These are not finalized proposals and more work and opportunities for public input will be done in the coming weeks and months before anything is introduced to the Common Council and other City Boards, Commissions, and Committees for their consideration. A schedule for those meetings will not be determined until the proposed ordinance is formally introduced.

Body-Worn Cameras Listening Session

The President's Workgroup on Madison Police Department Use of Deadly Force, De-Escalation and Body-Worn Cameras Policies and Procedures is hosting a public listening session regarding Body-Worn Cameras.

This public listening session will include a presentation from Alder John Guequierre, the Chair of the President's Workgroup. Chair Guequierre will cover the work completed, the guest testimony received, and the decisions still to be made by the Workgroup. Following the presentation, the Workgroup will ask for feedback from the public regarding several questions about Body-Worn Cameras policy. Members of the public will each have a turn to give their thoughts.
