Weapon fires during assault, bullet later found lodged in shoe

A security officer's gun discharged in a crowded bar early Sunday morning when he was assaulted by customers. 

Officers were dispatched to Madison's, located along the 100 block of King St., around 12:20 a.m. on Sunday.

A security guard told officers he pulled out his firearm when the women assaulted him.

No injuries were reported at the time of the incident, but a woman called police after she found a bullet lodged inside her boot Sunday evening. 

The security officer told officers he did not have a concealed carry permit. Tavion D. Russel, 26, was then arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and a probation violation.

Officers recovered the firearm.
