On Monday the Transportation Policy & Planning Board will receive an update on the Complete & Green Streets project. You can find a link to the presentation here and a link to the meeting info here. The board will also be asked to provide their recommendation on adopting guidance for Metro fare collection. You can find that presentation here.
Ash Tree Fundraiser
The Eastmorland Community Association welcomes you to join under the trees for some gemütlichkeit – friendliness and good cheer - in support of our neighborhood Ash Trees on Wednesday between 4-7pm Ash at the biergarten. Since 2015, hundreds of neighbors, friends and tree lovers have come together to treat and save the healthiest, largest and oldest trees - 22 park ash trees in Olbrich Park, 6 in O.B. Sherry Park and 4 in Eastmorland Park. More details here.

Shop from neighborhood market vendors and explore the Lansing Food Forest with your neighbors! Thursday from 4-7pm. Feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy! Bird & Nature Outing - Starkweather Creek Area
Join the Friends of Starkweather Creek on Saturday, from 11-12:30 at Eken Park. Look for areas with native flowers that are being restored to prairies and rain gardens with help from Friends of Starkweather Creek volunteers and the bridge nature murals and picnic tables by McCormick Park at the east end of Commercial Avenue. Take a moment to contemplate nature on the new Aldo Leopold Bench dedicated to Carl Landsness. Visit the Friends of Starkweather Creek booth at the Eken Park Festival. Learn about PFAS and other challenges to the creek. Pick up a new Creek Canoe Map. Make a Prairie Seed Ball to take home and start a new patch of native flowers for butterflies and bees. - Starkweather Drive/Garver Path - Starkweather Drive Reconstruction: Mid July to Mid Sep 2021, Starkweather Creek Bridges Complete & Adjacent Path work: Nov 2021, Wetland Bridge Complete & Adjacent Path work: Jul 2022
- Davies St., Dempsey Rd., Maher Ave. Reconstruction - Staff is working on alternative designs for Maher Avenue. Another public information meeting should be scheduled sometime this fall.
- Atwood Avenue - This project is awaiting federal funding. We should hear sometime this month on this.
- Autumn Ridge Path - This project is awaiting federal funding. We should hear sometime this month on this.
- Sycamore Park Parking Lot Replacement - The parking lot adjacent to the Sycamore Park dog park will be resurfaced August 23 - September 7.
- Starkweather Creek Watershed Study - Public Information Meeting #1 is scheduled for September 16.
