Weapons offense in the 4200 block of Maher Ave

One subject was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and a person of interest was taken into police custody following a weapons offense in the Lake Edge neighborhood on Friday. Dempsey/Davies/Maher reconstruction project postponed to 2022

The Dempsey/Davies/Maher reconstruction project originally planned for this year will be postponed to next year. While these streets are in serious need of reconstruction, I supported the delay in order to give staff more time to work on a revised design for Maher. There were a number of concerns expressed with the original proposed design at the public information meeting and I have encouraged staff to consider an alternative design that can provide for safe and comfortable conditions for pedestrians without such significant impacts on the street tree canopy.
