I am introducing a resolution that would extend the contract to keep Dairy Drive open through April 30, 2026 at an additional cost of $0. My colleagues on the County Board are reasonably confident that they can fund the rest of what's needed.
Over the last couple of months, there’s been a lot of discussion over traffic issues on Williamson Street. On Wednesday, August 27 at 5pm, the Transportation Commission will discuss and vote on implementing a trial to close the daily rush hour lanes.
The Social Justice Center (SJC) is located on the corner of Willy and Few Streets in the former founding location of the Willy Street Co-op. The SJC is home to several non-profits that serve various communities in our area.
Ride the Drive is happening this Sunday from 10am-2pm. Many street closures will affect downtown, the Marquette Neighborhood and Madison Metro's Route C.

There are two big public meetings this week that you may be interested in. Tonight (Monday) is a public meeting for the first phase of Madison Lakeway. Thursday evening will be a review of a watershed study that impacts ALL of District 6.
Last night the Common Council voted 17-3 to amend MGO 8.35, also known as the "Shoreline Ordinance," to make the first phase of the Madison LakeWay exempt from referendum. I was one of the three alders to vote against this.
Please join me next Thursday, July 24 at 6:30pm for a public meeting to present the East Isthmus and Yahara River Watershed Study. This important work has been studying how to build infrastructure to better handle stormwater on the isthmus.
