Permit Free Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, June 6 -7, 2026

Access the lakes, bring your pooch to a park, and play disc golf, all without a typically required permit.

    Lake Access Permit

    Required year-round for all designated launch sites in the City of Madison, City of Monona, and Dane County Parks.

    A disc golf permit is required for a player aged 16 years and older.

    Dog Permit

    Required for any dog visiting an off-leash park or on-leash where allowed.

    Cross-Country Ski Permit

    Required for all designated cross-country ski trails in Madison Parks and Dane County Parks.
