Air Quality Alert

EPA Air Quality Indicator

As you may have already heard, today’s air quality in Madison is unhealthy. Please try to limit outdoor activities, especially for kids, elders, and folks with chronic health conditions. If you do have to go outside, please take precautions, including wearing a mask. Glacial Drumlin Trail Public Information Meeting

The City of Madison is in the planning and design stages for the Capital City Path – Glacial Drumlin Trail extension project in coordination with Dane County. The city portion of the project will extend the Capital City Path to the east-side of Interstate I-39/90.

There is a Public Information Meeting scheduled for Aug. 7 th , 2025, at 6:00pm via Zoom. Registration prior is required.  If you’d like to read more about the project, you can do so here.

U.S. 51 Feedback Survey

As the Wisconsin Department of Transportation continues to study South Stoughton Road and develop their plans for a redesign, they are hoping to hear more from residents, business owners, and anyone who frequently uses the corridor.

Before us, we have a once in a generation opportunity to transform this corridor, make it safer for all users to navigate, and increase the economic opportunity of Southeast Madison. If you missed the most recent public information meeting, you can watch a recording of it here. I strongly encourage you to fill out the survey – it’s a fantastic way to make sure that your voice is heard.

Olbrich Gardens Big Stinky Flower!

A Corpse Flower at Olbrich Gardens

One of the corpse flowers at Olbrich Gardens is in bloom! This is a rare bloom and only lasts for 24-48 hours at most. Don’t miss out on this stinky spectacle.

Due to the Blooming Butterflies exhibit being held in the Bolz Conservatory, the plant will instead be on display for public viewing in the back-of-house tropical greenhouse.

Viewings will be available on Thursday, July 31, and Friday, August 1.
To enter the tropical greenhouse and view the corpse flower, all guests must purchase timed entry tickets in advance at their website.
